In a blend of past and future, we have transformed a significant piece of Nigerian history into our new headquarters. On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, Fincra launched its new headquarters in Ikoyi, Lagos, with partners, merchants and other important stakeholders present.

Once the residence of one of Nigeria’s key colonial administrators, Sir Frederick Lugard, the historical landmark in Ikoyi is now a beacon of innovation and progress for us at Fincra.

Fincra Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ayowole Ayodele believes that the company’s new headquarters at this historic landmark represents its goal of always reflecting purely on the positive elements of Nigeria’s vibrant journey.

“The Nigeria of our dreams cannot be shaped by cynicism and burdened by the weight of our blemished past, but with utmost optimism,” Ayowole said.

One of the first acts of unification from a Nigerian point of view was carried out by Sir Frederick Lugard in January 1914. Our Co-Founder and Director of Operations (DOO) Gideon Orovwiroro, believes that the company’s new headquarters at Sir Lugard’s former residence represents our value of building together in unity.

“This is what Fincra is making out of our history: transforming it into a foundation for innovation and connectivity,” Gideon said about the company’s new headquarters.

“This building, steeped in history, symbolises our commitment to embracing the positive aspects of our past while forging a hopeful future—one that is optimistic and forward-looking,” Gideon said.

“Fincra embodies the spirit of unity and progress that we aspire to see in our nation,” said Gideon.

“The Fincra Tribe, as we call ourselves at Fincra, is a diverse group of highly effective collaborators from various backgrounds. This unity, devoid of bias and division, embodies the spirit of Nigeria. Together, we have built and are still building infrastructure that makes sending and receiving value across Nigeria, Africa, and the globe as easy as sending a text message.

“Our mission is to build the API infrastructure to digitally connect all of Nigeria and Africa to the rest of the world. Since 2021, we have expanded our services to Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, the United Kingdom, Europe, and North America, staying true to our vision to provide solutions that enable businesses and platforms to send and receive money in more than 150 countries.”
