FCT Minister Wike Calls Himself Nigeria’s Most Abused Politician After Tinubu

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has described himself as the most abused politician in Nigeria after President Bola Tinubu, while announcing that political activities in Rivers State will officially kick off in January 2026.

Wike made the remarks on Saturday during a thanksgiving service organized by former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche, in Ochiba community, Ahoada East Local Government Area.

The former Rivers State governor reaffirmed his steadfast loyalty to President Tinubu, emphasizing that he honours agreements and remains committed to political decisions made in good faith. He also expressed gratitude to residents of Ahoada East and Ahoada West for their continued support over the years.

Reflecting on the 2023 general elections, Wike praised the people for their unwavering support for Tinubu at a time when many politicians were indecisive, noting that their commitment helped strengthen the President’s mandate in Rivers State. He subtly criticised politicians who recently aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC), suggesting that their backing came too late to be meaningful.

Wike further stressed the need to respect political agreements, warning that his camp would not be taken for granted in the upcoming political cycle. He claimed that frequent attacks against him result from his insistence on accountability, alleging that some politicians exploit him for personal gain.

Earlier in the event, Chibudom Nwuche lauded Wike for his developmental efforts in the Ekpeye Kingdom, particularly the elevation of several traditional stools during his tenure as governor. Nwuche said Wike’s leadership left a lasting positive impact, earning him enduring loyalty from the local population.
