FC Porto have agreed a deal to sign English centre-back Chris Smalling as a free agent.

The 36-year-old former Manchester United and Roma defender is currently undergoing his medical in Portugal after leaving Saudi club Al-Fayha at the end of last season.

Smalling is expected to sign a one-year contract with an option for a further season.

The experienced England international, who won multiple trophies during a decade at Old Trafford and later starred in Serie A with Roma, will provide leadership and depth as Porto continue their strong start to the 2026/27 campaign.
