At the end of 2025, Ford made a major decision to discontinue production of its all-electric pickup truck, the Ford F-150 Lightning. While the all-electric Ford truck had garnered positive reception from the automotive press and won over plenty of buyers in the fairly-new electric truck segment, the American car brand cited multiple reasons for this decision. Chief among these were the long-term financial costs incurred in developing and producing this particular EV model that had forced the automaker to rethink its product strategy.
