The bitter feud between former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu escalated further, taking centre stage on national television as former Adamawa State Commissioner for Information, Hon. Ahmad Sajoh, analysed the rift on TVC News’ This Morning programme at 11:00 AM WAT today.

Once-close allies with shared northern political ties, El-Rufai and Ribadu have exchanged grave accusations in recent weeks. In a high-profile Arise Television interview, El-Rufai claimed he intercepted Ribadu’s phone communications, overhearing orders to detain him at Abuja airport.

He also alleged Ribadu’s office imported toxic thallium sulphate and was using anti-corruption agencies against him, tying it to speculated 2031 presidential ambitions.

Ribadu’s office denied the chemical claims, referring the matter to security agencies. The Federal Government filed three-count cybercrime charges against El-Rufai for unlawful interception, with his arraignment set for February 25 at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Sajoh’s TVC appearance framed the conflict as a deepening personal-political crisis with risks for national stability and the APC, amid President Tinubu’s silence as 2027 elections loom.
