DUBAI: Dubai World Cup 2026 is set to take centre stage on Saturday at Meydan Racecourse, bringing together 100 horses from top international stables in a landmark 30th edition of the prestigious racing event. With total prize money of $30.5 million, the event continues to rank among the richest race meetings globally.

The highlight of Dubai World Cup 2026 is the main Group 1 race, sponsored by Emirates Airline, offering $12 million over a 2,000-metre dirt track. Nine elite thoroughbreds are set to compete, including defending champion Hit Show, along with strong contenders such as Forever Young and Imperial Emperor.

The evening opens with the Dubai Kahayla Classic for Purebred Arabians, featuring 15 runners competing for $1 million. Other major races include the Godolphin Mile and the Dubai Gold Cup, each drawing competitive international fields.

The UAE Derby, a key race on the card, will showcase emerging talent over 1,900 metres, while the Al Quoz Sprint and Dubai Golden Shaheen bring high-speed action over shorter distances. Turf racing highlights include the Dubai Turf and the Longines Dubai Sheema Classic, both attracting top global contenders.

Organisers at Dubai Racing Club confirmed that preparations have been completed, with strong turnout expected from racing fans and global audiences alike.
