Don’t Blame Nigerians For Anything, They Didn’t Vote For Tinubu. He Lost His State -Dr. Adetokunbo

In a report by the Sun, Dr. Adetokunbo Pearse, a public affairs analyst and the Convener of Reset Lagos, provided a detailed analysis of President Bola Tinubu’s electoral performance. Pearse suggested that Tinubu’s success in securing votes in the northern regions of the country was largely due to strategic political maneuvering, while his support in the southern parts, with the exception of the South-West, was considerably weaker.

Pearse argued that the Nigerian people are well aware of the current government’s poor performance and cast doubt on the legitimacy of Tinubu’s victory, given that he was declared the winner with only about 31% of the votes counted. He asserted that Nigerians should not be held responsible for Tinubu’s election, as they did not vote for him in substantial numbers.

These comments were made in response to the claim that Nigeria should have been a strong nation by now or at least be making strides towards becoming one, but mutual suspicion among ethnic and religious groups continues to widen the gap between communities.

In Pearse’s own words, “Tinubu used some political acumen to get those states in the north. The south was not safe for him. He didn’t get much in the south, except South-West. Out of the six states in the South West, he got four. The only person that got from his tribe totally is Obi. Do you think that Nigerians are not aware of the poor performance of the government? Do you think that Nigerians don’t know that they didn’t vote for Tinubu considering that only about 31 per cent of the votes came in before he was declared winner. Don’t blame Nigerians for anything; they didn’t vote for him.”….Seē _ Morē
