Iyabo Ojo Mohbad DNA

Nigerian actress and activist, Iyabo Ojo addressed the unending request for the result of the DNA test conducted on late Mohbad’s son, Liam Aloba.

Speaking in a live session, the mother of two said she is not interested in knowing who the real father of the child is, because her focus is on getting justice for the singer’s death.

Iyabo, who is among those at the forefront of calls for the people behind Mohbad’s death to be uncovered and prosecuted said a paternity test is a huge distraction.

The popular thespian, however, said that it still wouldn’t excuse his wife, Wunmi Aloba as a suspect in the case whether the rapper is the biological father of Liam or not.

She emphasised that the issue is more of a family matter which they have to settle privately while she and others focus on finding the killers of Mohbad.

Iyabo Ojo added that his widow, Omwunmi is the only person with the power to consent to the DNA test pending the release of the autopsy report.

In her words; “DNA was not part of our justice for Mohbad, so it does not really concern us. But his dad came out to say he wants DNA because that was one of the distractions and narratives they brought out and he wants them to do it since they want to do it. Okay, that’s fine! But that’s a family matter, it has got nothing to do with justice for Mohbad.”

Meanwhile, in related news…

CorrectNG reported earlier that Iyabo Ojo opened up on some of the requests made by Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of late rapper, Mohbad.

She said Wunmi declared readiness for a DNA test to be conducted on her son, Liam Aloba, but she demanded that they be done in three different places.

One of the three places for the paternity test is Nigeria, the second is to be done in the United States, while the last remains unknown.

Iyabo said; “But you know she has her lawyers. Their family matter is something I do not want to get involved with. I just decided to wade in and tell Wunmi, ‘What about the DNA thing?’ I had to do that with a lot of maturity.

“You have to understand that it is not easy. She is a mother. She is an adult. Someone cannot just come to me and say, ‘Iyabo, get a DNA test done for your child’. It kinda sounds funny. They also requested that Mohbad’s father needs to get the test done first. He needs to get a court order.

“He also needs to make sure that the test is done in three places, which America is part of. And they have to fund the whole bill. They have also responded that they are ready to do all that”.
