Popular Ghanaian musician, DJ Azonto has shocked many netizens as he has been publicly endorsing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of Ghana and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate for the upcoming 2024 general election.

This endorsement came during a high-energy rally, just weeks after he had publicly criticized Bawumia for using his music without authorization.

In a video making rounds online, DJ Azonto, whose real name is Kwaku Aboagye, took the microphone and addressed the enthusiastic crowd.

The controversial entertainer was seen leading the crowd to chant Dr. Bawumia’s name.

DJ Azonto’s decision to endorse Bawumia came as a shock to many, considering the recent tensions between the artist and the NPP.

Some weeks ago, he was demanding $10 million from the campaign office of the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer was seen dancing to his “Fa no Fom” hit while campaigning in some parts of the country.

In a statement he issued on May 16, 2024, the musician indicated that his permission was not sought before the music was used on campaign grounds and is seeking $10 million as compensation
