Didi-Omah Exposes The Secret Of Not Being A Poor Christian (As Poor As A Church Rat)

There is a saying that people love to profess, a proverb I personally hate with passion and fashion: “As poor as a church rat.” I reject that saying with everything in me. I discard it, because it carries a curse that does not belong to a Christian. As a child of God, I have declared and decided — I will never be poor, and I will prove that proverb wrong.

Look around today, many successful ministers and men of God have already proved it wrong. They are not poor, they are not crawling in lack. Instead, they are wealthy, powerful, full of value, walking in truth, and adding meaning to the lives of many. They have shown the world that a true Christian does not need to live under the bondage of poverty.

As poor as a church rat, is a result of; more religious, less educated, and increase in poverty. Be a Christian, not being religious, get educated on updated insights, and get proper financial knowledge to stay above poverty.

But here is the problem I have observed: many are more religious than Christian. They spend long hours in prayers, fasting, shouting, binding, casting — yet no wisdom, no knowledge, no work, no productivity. And the result is the same: poverty. Let’s be honest — being religious does not make you succeed in life, and it does not automatically take you to heaven. It is diligent Christians — those who fill their hearts with the knowledge of the truth, who obey God, and who take massive action by faith — those are the ones who stand tall both in life and in eternity.

Prayers are powerful. They are a part of Christianity, but prayer without wisdom leads to frustration. Prayer without education leads to ignorance. Prayer without diligence leads to poverty. God never created His children to be lazy. He never called us to fold our hands and hope for manna to keep falling from the sky. No. He said: “The hand of the diligent shall rule, but the slothful shall be under tribute.” He said: “I will bless the work of your hands.” Notice — the work of your hands — not the emptiness of your hands.

Executive, Christianity is not poverty. Christianity is not to look poor and be poor. Christianity is not backwardness. Christianity is not suffering in silence while quoting scriptures wrongly. Christianity is walking with God in obedience, applying His wisdom, seeking updated knowledge, pursuing financial education, and building value that blesses others.

So I say this with love and truth: if you want to prove that proverb wrong, then rise up. Don’t be lazy. Don’t hide behind long prayers while refusing to learn a skill, start a business, or build your mind. Poverty is not a badge of holiness. It is not a requirement for heaven. God is glorified when His children prosper in truth, when they live above lack, and when they use their blessings to touch others.

And now, let this be your declaration: I will never be poor. I reject poverty in every form. I embrace wisdom, diligence, and obedience to God. I will walk in faith, I will increase in knowledge, and I will prosper to the glory of God.

But let me warn you with a heart of love: if you keep being religious without transformation, if you keep praying without working, if you keep fasting while ignoring knowledge, then you will remain in the cycle of lack. And that is not the will of God for you. Break free. Stand up. Prove that proverb wrong with your life.
