Sam Dede is a senior lecturer in the University of Portharcourt. He lectures in the Department of Theatre Arts. 

He is a native of Okrika, a small village in Rivers State. He grew up in Lagos State. 

Sam Dede joined Nollywood in 1995 and rose to fame after starring in the Nollywood blockbuster movie "Ijele"

He is always known for playing the role of a wàrrior, police detective, top security agent and hitman role in several Nollywood action thriller movies.

Sam Dede is very gifted, skillful, creative and talented in acting and interpretation of movie roles. He knows how to interpret his roles very well and can fit in any character given to him by movie directors and producers in Nigeria.
