Delta State Police Command has uncovered and shut down a clandestine “torture apartment” allegedly operating under the guise of Hustlers Kingdom (HK), where seven young boys were reportedly held captive and subjected to severe physical abuse in the name of “learning Yahoo Yahoo” (internet fraud).

The revelation came from the Command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, in a video posted on his official Facebook page. Police launched the operation following a complaint from a 28-year-old escapee, Chukwuike, who fled the apartment by jumping out of a window to seek help.

Chukwuike alleged that he had been detained for two months and one day, during which he and other boys were routinely beaten with canes and often denied food. “We don’t eat. Sometimes, we eat once in a day and then go four days without food. We don’t have access to our phones. Whenever we tell the chairman we want to leave, he beats us. That’s why I jumped from the window. The marks on my back were from him because we didn’t have a paying client,” he said.

Another victim, a 23-year-old from Benue State, revealed he was prevented from leaving even after informing the “chairman” on his first day that he wanted to return home.

SP Edafe described the physical condition of the boys as severe, noting that “you need to see the boy’s back” to understand the brutality inflicted. Acting swiftly, Delta State Police operatives raided the apartment, rescuing all seven victims and arresting two suspects, who identified themselves as the “chairmen” of the HK ring.

The rescued boys are now receiving medical attention, while the suspects remain in custody as investigations continue. Authorities said the suspects will face charges related to human trafficking, unlawful detention, physical assault, and exploitation.

SP Edafe warned parents, guardians, and young Nigerians about the growing proliferation of HK-style criminal hideouts, emphasizing that the police will continue to dismantle such operations and protect vulnerable youths across Delta State.
