DELTA 2023: IJAW YOUTH POLITICAL COUNCIL RALLIES SUPPORT FOR OMO-AGEGE 

The Delta State chapter of the Ijaw Youth Political Council, IYPC, a political pressure group, has charged the youths of Delta State, particularly Ijaw youths to support the State's governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege as the 2023 general elections approach.

The call was made by the Director-General of IYPC, Apostle Stephen Epiri, at the weekend.

"We believe that the coming of Omo-Agege will bring changes to Delta State," said the DG of IYPC. "Also, with the coming of Omo-Agege, we the Ijaws see that he has the feelings and concerns for the Ijaws, that is why we the youths are supporting him," he added.

He further bemoaned the poor state of governance in Delta State, particularly the riverine communities of the Ijaws where basic infrastructures are lacking despite their massive contributions to the revenues of the State.

"Our message from the IYPC to Ijaw youths is that let us support Omo-Agege. He is the rightful candidate and is the only candidate that can deliver the needed dividends of democracy to us. 

"He is equipped to take away this filthy garment of no electricity, no jobs, poor infrastructure, etc. out of our lives despite we have been oil producing. We believe that Omo-Agege will bring changes over those things. Currently there are no youth and women empowerment, but with Omo-Agege there will be changes.

"I know this because, from the meetings we have been privilege to have with the APC candidate few times in public meetings and the way and manner he addresses us, shows that he has concerns for the Ijaws. 

"He made us to understand that he loves the Ijaws and that whatever belongs to the Ijaws he is ready to give to the Ijaws because without the Ijaws' support, Delta State cannot produce Governor.," he added.
