FEBRUARY — DAY 13: THE PRAYERS OF THE DISCIPLES
Date: Friday, February 13, 2026

Focus Scripture:
“They all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication…” — Acts 1:14

What You Will Walk Away With

  1. Understanding that biblical prayer is not only private communion but also a communal discipline practiced in unity.
  2. Insight into the prayer patterns of the early Church—marked by unity, expectation, and perseverance.
  3. Appreciation for how corporate unity in prayer releases spiritual power, clarity, and mission advancement.

Devotional
Christian prayer was never meant to be only private. From the beginning, the Church prayed together. Where believers unite in prayer, strength multiplies and direction becomes clear.

The disciples prayed in obedience to Jesus’ instruction—to wait for the promise of the Father. Their prayers were marked by: Unity—”one accord,” not scattered agendas; Expectation—waiting for the Spirit as promised; Perseverance—continuing, not quitting until the answer came. Corporate prayer birthed the Church and empowered its mission. When believers prayed together, fear was replaced with boldness, confusion gave way to clarity, and the gospel advanced with power.

Prayer was not an event in the early Church; it was the atmosphere in which they lived and ministered. Jesus prayed for unity among His followers (John 17). The disciples’ prayers fulfilled His desire. Where Christ is central, unity in prayer releases power and purpose.

Prayer
Father,
Draw Your people into unity as we pray.
Bind our hearts together with a single purpose—to seek You, to honor You, and to see Your Kingdom manifest.
Strengthen the bond between us as we stand before You, not as scattered voices, but as one body crying out.
Amen.

Declaration

  • I declare that I am part of a praying community, united with my brothers and sisters in Christ.
  • I declare that my prayers are strengthened when I agree with other believers in faith and purpose.
  • I declare that the unity Jesus prayed for is being fulfilled as the Church prays together in one accord.

Action Points

  1. Engage regularly in corporate prayer. If your church or fellowship has prayer gatherings, make them a priority. If not, initiate a simple time of prayer with one or two other believers this week.
  2. Pray in agreement with another believer. Find a prayer partner and agree together on a specific request (Matthew 18:19). Pray it through until you see God’s answer.
  3. Guard unity as you pray. Before corporate prayer, examine your heart for any unforgiveness, division, or competitiveness. Choose to protect the “one accord” that makes prayer powerful.

Memory Verse
“Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” — Matthew 18:19
