At a media parley on Sunday, July 14, 2024, the company’s founder, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, proudly disclosed the group’s tax contributions, stating that:

– For every N1 turned over, the group pays about 52 Kobo in taxes, demonstrating a significant contribution to the national revenue.

– The cement subsidiary has paid more taxes than all banks in the country, with a staggering:

– N170 billion in corporate tax, education tax, and withholding tax of about N30 billion.

– The group pays N900 million daily in VAT, totaling N27 billion monthly, further emphasizing its commitment to supporting the government’s revenue generation efforts.

Dangote acknowledged government’s support through tax holidays, which has enabled the group’s growth and expansion. This support has been instrumental in the company’s ability to invest in various sectors, create jobs, and contribute to the economy.

The Dangote Group is also one of Nigeria’s top employers in the private sector, with scores of thousands of employees across its subsidiaries. The group is consistently listed as one of the top ten best-paying companies in Nigeria, providing employment opportunities and supporting the livelihoods of many families.
