Court Orders Hisbah Board to Conduct Marriage Between Popular TikTokers Idris Mai Wushirya and Basira Yar Guda Within 60 Days Over Romantic Skits

A Magistrate Court in Kano State has ordered the Hisbah Board to formalize the marriage between two popular TikTok content creators, Idris Mai Wushirya and Basira Yar Guda, within 60 days.

The directive was issued after the pair appeared before the Kano State Films and Video Censorship Board over videos deemed indecent and morally inappropriate under state laws.

Delivering the ruling, Magistrate Halima Wali warned that failure to carry out the marriage within the stipulated time would be treated as contempt of court.

The court also mandated the Chairman of the Kano State Films and Video Censorship Board to oversee the proper implementation of the marriage order.

According to the Censorship Board, the duo’s viral clips — showing them in romantic poses and indecent dressing — violated local laws prohibiting the production or distribution of sexually suggestive or obscene content.

Both creators were arraigned before the court for allegedly producing and sharing such videos on social media platforms.

Earlier, Mai Wushirya was remanded in a correctional facility after videos surfaced online showing him shirtless and engaging in acts the authorities described as “immoral and demeaning.”

His co-creator, Yar Guda, was also questioned by the Board’s enforcement officers before the matter was transferred to court.
