Collision live blog: All In fallout show

Follow along with this week’s episode, the first Saturday night show following the events of All In!

Here’s a place to check results and comment along with the new episode of AEW Collision, airing live tonight (Aug. 31, 2024) at 8 pm ET on TNT.

AEW is broadcasting this weekend from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The show will feature fallout from the All In pay-per-view that went down just this past weekend in London.

That will include FTR vs. The Undisputed Kingdom in what is being given top billing on the promotion for this show.

Plus, Queen Aminata vs. Hikaru Shida vs. Serena Deeb vs. Thunder Rosa in a Fatal 4-Way match, Tomohiro Ishii takes on Kyle Fletcher in singles action, Lee Moriarity teams up with Johnny TV and The Beast Mortos to take on the team of Hologram, Kyle O’Reilly, and Orange Cassidy in a six-man tag, and so much more!

AEW COLLISION RESULTS FOR AUG. 31

Den of Thieves just finished up. Hell of a movie. Time to do some Saturday night colliding (I’m not sorry).

Kyle O’Reilly & Orange Cassidy & Hologram vs. Lee Moriarity & Johnny TV & The Beast Mortos: They open with a six-man tag match. Moriarity was out with the rest of Shane Taylor Promotions. Cassidy touched Hologram like he was trying to make sure he was real. LOL and all that. They did a lot of flying around in this match, including telegraphing a big spot where everyone got into position so Hologram could come off the top rope onto everyone. Mortos was booked decently strong, as he was powering through everyone and got some good near falls. Of course, they had to do the Cassidy comedy bit with him too. A mad dash to the finish saw Hologram take out Johnny TV with the Spanish fly for the pin. O’Reilly & Cassidy & Hologram def. Moriarity & Johnny TV & Mortos via pinfall

Tony Schiavone was falling over himself to put over how amazing Hologram is, and how he’s now 6-0 in AEW.

Bang Bang Gang vs. Premier Athletes: Smart Mark Sterling came out with a microphone and cut off the announcement of the Premier Athletes. He said many have been saying the Athletes on episodes of Collision make for the best episodes of all time because they walk, talk, and act like stars. Tonight, they’ll win like stars, which is something the Bang Bang Gang and the people of South Dakota know nothing about. Sure. Naturally, they barely got any offense in, Juice Robinson ran wild on them, and the Bang Bang Gang pinned them clean to win in a short match. Bang Bang Gang def. Premier Athletes via pinfall

They cut to a video from New Japan Pro Wrestling promoting Mercedes Mone as the New Japan Strong women’s champion. She put over the Stardom women, calling them some of the best women’s wrestlers in the world but they aren’t her. She’s the best at what she does.

So anyone around the globe can come see her, and come try to take her titles. “Come try to be like me, I dare you.”

But they can’t because winning changes everything and they’ll never be as rich as her.

They then announce that the winner of the Fatal 4-Way match taking place this evening will earn the winner a shot at Mone’s title at All Out.

Then they cut to a video of Hikaru Shida saying she wanted real competition and to be a champion again. Now, she’ll get a chance to make good on everything and the world will find out what she means tonight.

FTR vs. Undisputed Kingdom: I missed half of this but it was your standard back-and-forth midway through that turned into a fun match that saw FTR stack up to pin UK for the win. FTR def. Undisputed Kingdom via pinfall

Immediately after the win, the Grizzled Young Veterans hopped the ring and laid out Dax Hardwood and Cash Wheeler. They grabbed a mic to say they want to make it clear that AEW is where the best wrestle and that’s why they are here. They want it very, very clear that this is the second time in one week that they’ve laid out the “living legends.” They say they are bitter and have a chip on their shoulders because they have been compared to FTR and forced to live in their shadow for years.

They’re here to stay in AEW and the only name we’ll remember when they’re done is the Grizzled Young Veterans.

A video from Thunder Rosa saying she can’t help but chuckle when she hears other women say they’re the ace of the division, so tonight she’ll show everyone what that really looks like.

Coming back from a commercial break and Lance Archer is just kicking the shit out of everyone he sees. People are coming up to him and he’s just dishing out beatings, using any object in the near vicinity.

Dudes are getting choke slammed onto concrete slabs.

He breathes heavy into the camera while saying “everybody dies.”

Top Flight & Action Andretti & Lio Rush vs. Iron Savages & Jacked Jameson & Turbo Floyd: Schiavone calls the latter team a motley crew. They did not get a television entrance. The babyfaces had some fun tandem offense early. They were in control for much of the early going. Dante Martin was airplane spinning everyone. Rush got to fly around a bit and it wasn’t much longer until they hit a flatliner and then the splash from Martin to score the pin. Top Flight & Andretti & Rush def. Schiavone put over the fact that there hasn’t been this many amazing high flyers in AEW in its history.

Backstage to Lexi Nair and she talks about the main event Fatal 4-Way. She’s joined by Queen Aminata and Serena Deeb, both competitors in the match. She asks what advantage Aminata has and she says she’s been in the ring with all three women so far this year, so she’s got them scouted.

Deeb cuts her off to say she’s the professor and there’s no one on the roster who knows this game better than her. She’s also been in the ring with all three of the others and she’s beaten all three of the others. She doesn’t like the other two but she does like Aminata. She even says she’s one of the best up and comers on the roster, but she’s just not ready yet.

Deeb then offers up a proposition — they work together tonight instead of against each other. Aminata starts to protest but Deeb tells her to think on it and walks off.

Schiavone rightfully points out it’s a 4-Way and every woman is out for themselves. Deeb, therefore, cannot be trusted.

Kyle Fletcher vs. Tomohiro Ishii: A fun start to the match with the two of them screaming at each other while they trade forearms. Ishii started getting the better of it so Fletcher kicked him low. Sure. Fletcher was actually hanging with Ishii, including getting a big powerbomb despite nearly dropping Ishii and just powering his way through it. Impressive stuff! Callis on commentary put over Fletcher going toe-to-toe and how shocking it must be to Ishii. Then again, Ishii shocked everyone by hitting a top rope hurricanrana. Fletcher threw everyting and the kitchen sink at Ishii and finally, after a tombstone and then a piledriver he got the three count. Fletcher def. Ishii via pinfall

That was one hell of a match.

They cut to PAC and Lexi congratulates him for finally having his Wembley moment. He says do not think he is content despite getting that moment. He’s still full of piss and vinegar. They say good things come to those who wait and he thinks that’s a crock of crap. He’s long overdue and he’s done waiting.

If he had his way, he would fight Will Ospreay tonight but he understands contractual obligation. So he suggests Will gets his friends and he’ll get his partners and they’ll give them a taste of All Out at Dynamite.

Kyle O’Reilly and Orange Cassidy show up and PAC agrees to team with them.

Buddy Matthews vs. Komander: Nigel McGuiness puts over Matthews physique but says it’s not often a guy looking like that can keep up with someone like Komander. Naturally, Buddy does just that. He also overpowered him. Komander tried a dive to the outside and Buddy caught him and suplexed him to the floor. Looked wild. Komander hung in there for quite a while but Buddy eventually got a big knee and that paved the way to hit his finish for the three count. Matthews def. Komander via pinfall

Big pop for Buddy’s win there. They put over Komander pushing him quite a bit.

After, Brody King got in the ring and raised Matthews’ arm in victory. They cut backstage and MxM Collection were on the tron and they say next week it’s fashion week. They plan to send the demonic dipsticks back to hell where they belong.

“House of Black, prepare to get house of blacked.”

Okay.

They challenge them to a “Friday night fashion fight.” Matthews gets a mic and says “it’s your funeral.”

Main event time.

Hikaru Shida vs. Queen Aminata vs. Thunder Rosa vs. Serena Deeb: Plenty of reminders that the winner of this faces Mercedes Mone at All Out. Shida came out hot, beating up all three women in the match. Aminata and Deeb seemed to be teaming together at various points, so apparently the former decided it was a good idea after all. Of course, Aminata went for a pin at one point and Deeb was going to break it up. Then she attacked. No loyalty in this one, like Schiavone kept saying. The match was an absolute melee, with bodies everywhere and the advantage shared as the match wore on. Schiavone tells us they’re sticking with it into an overrun so we can see a decisive winner. Right as the hour turns, everyone is laid out in the ring. Shida and Rosa were hammering each other late, and it looked like it was down to those two. Rosa with the hurricanrana off the top and then a superkick to Aminata. Rosa with the death valley bomb to Shida but Deeb makes the save. Aminata gets her revenge on Deeb, leaving her in with Shida, who rolls her up for two. A brief back-and-forth and Shida gets the better of it. Shida def. Aminata & Rosa & Deeb via pinfall

That makes it official — Mone vs. Shida at All Out.
