CM Punk being promoted for Friday’s SmackDown

@AllstateArena Shortly after showing up at Clash at the Castle on Saturday (June 15) to screw Drew McIntyre out of the WWE World Heavyweight title for the second time in three months — and piss off almost all of Scotland in the process — CM Punk gave us an update on his injury status. Punk’s been sidelined since Royal Rumble with a torn triceps, which hasn’t stopped him from continuing to mess with McIntyre after he took credit for the injury. Punk’s involvement last weekend seemed like a sign he was close to a comeback, and at the post-Clash press conference he said he was hoping to be cleared today. If he got the okay from his medical team on Monday, the Best in the World said he’d be on SmackDown this Friday in his beloved Chicago to deliver the good news.
