CJ Perry’s AEW run is over

Hopes were high at the time it could led to something for the woman who went by Lana in WWE, and help Miro — fka Rusev — finally start a meaningful ascent up the card in AEW (Perry and Miro are married, although they announced they were separating this past March). Those hopes were for naught. Perry’s storyline with Miro involved Andrade, who exiting the company shortly after being paired with CJ. She was sidelined by a serious infection that started when she got a splinter backstage at a taping, Miro disappeared again with his own injuries, and now she tells USA Today’s Jordan Mendoza that her “time with them has just finished.” Perry is not listed on the AEW website; Mendoza said he reached out to Tony Khan’s promotion for comment, but apparently didn’t hear back before publishing. As for CJ she says she’s open to signing with any wrestling company (she also praised the storytelling happening around her friend Liv Morgan at WWE). She wants to continue focusing on managing, and has some Hall of Fame-level goals for herself in that space:

“I’m really focused on finding talent and cultivating them and helping them become the best wrestler, champion possible. I guess you could say I want to be the Paul Heyman.”
