According to DAILY POST reports, a coalition of students under the auspices of the Coalition of Concerned Northern Youth and Students has announced their decision to withdraw from the planned nationwide protest against hunger and economic hardship in Nigeria.

The decision was conveyed by Comrade Jibrin Sani Bello, the Senate President of the National Association of Kano State Students (NAKS), during a press briefing in Kano.

Comrade Bello explained that while preparations for the protest were at an advanced stage, the coalition decided to pull out due to concerns over the unknown identity of the protest organizers.

He highlighted the potential risks and unintended consequences of participating in protests organized by unknown entities.

Bello also pointed out that such protests often disrupt academic activities, which could have adverse effects on students’ education.

The coalition, while acknowledging the challenges faced by many Nigerians, stressed the importance of ensuring that any actions taken are well-informed and strategically beneficial.

Instead of engaging in protests, the coalition has proposed alternative measures to address the economic challenges.

Bello advocated for the expansion of the National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to provide scholarships for eligible students pursuing education both locally and internationally.

He argued that such initiatives would offer more sustainable solutions to the economic difficulties faced by students and their families….Seē _ Morē
