Chief Maurice Vunobolki, PhD, FCA, has formally kicked off his campaign to contest the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State, pledging to pursue leadership focused on development, inclusion and service to the people.

Speaking at the campaign kick-off on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, Vunobolki said his decision to contest was driven by the challenges facing farmers, youths, women, workers, businesses and communities across the state.

He said Adamawa needs leadership that listens to its people, cares about their welfare and delivers tangible results.

Vunobolki outlined a vision centred on using agriculture and technology to drive economic prosperity, while creating opportunities for young people to learn, earn and build sustainable livelihoods.

He also pledged greater attention to women’s empowerment, education, healthcare and infrastructure, promising that every community would be included in the development agenda.

The governorship hopeful said his campaign would focus on ideas, issues, character, competence and service rather than division or attacks against political opponents.

Vunobolki further appealed to his supporters to remain peaceful, respectful and law-abiding throughout the electoral process.

He promised that his campaign would be conducted with dignity and courage, stressing that the ultimate decision would be left to the people of Adamawa.

Concluding his address, Vunobolki invited the people of the state to join his campaign as partners in what he described as a shared vision for a greater Adamawa.

He declared: “I am ready to listen, and prepared to serve.”
