Chevy Dealer Flipping New Corvette ZR1 On BaT

It didn’t take long for America’s supercar bargain to hit the resale market. A 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, still unregistered and showing just 6 miles (10 km) on its odometer, has popped up for auction on Bring a Trailer.

And in this case, the seller isn’t a private owner but a Chevrolet dealer, meaning it comes with full warranty. The listing openly notes that “this car does not have a title as it has never been sold to a private party owner.”

For anyone who missed their dealer slot, this could be a tempting shortcut to Corvette stardom, provided they’re prepared to play by Chevrolet’s rules.

The ZR1 takes the already ferocious Z06 and cranks everything up to eleven. Its heart is the LT7, a 5.5-liter twin-turbo flat-plane-crank V8 producing a staggering 1,064 hp (1,079 PS) and 828 lb-ft of torque, sent exclusively to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

Chevy claims it’ll rocket from 0 to 60 mph in the low-two-second range and top out somewhere around 233 mph (375 kmh), figures that put it squarely in supercar territory.

This particular Corvette, finished in black in and out, but punctuated with blue stripes, brake calipers, seatbelts and stitching, has a few tasty options, the most expensive of which is the $10,495 carbon aero package consisting of a bunch of composite components such as the giant rear wing.

Ordering the carbon bundle also unlocks access to the ZR1‘s $4,395 ZTK chassis upgrade, which this car has. The ZTK pack tightens up the braking and handling with magnetic ride control dampers, carbon brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

Other add-ons like a nose lift, carbon interior goodies and the dual stripes inflated the total options bill to almost $30k, and the final MSRP to $222,990.

Not that you’ve got any chance of being this C8’s first owner for that price. At the time of writing, with a full day still to go on the auction, bids had already sailed past $250,000 as buyers who missed out on a dealer allocation battle to get their hands on what was the ultimate C8 until the even nuttier 1,250 hp (1,267 PS) ZR1X was revealed in June.

But those buyers need to read the small print so they know what they’re getting into. As the dealer notes in the listing, Chevrolet has a strict 12-month resale restriction on every ZR1 and anyone who flips one before that year is up risks having the car’s factory warranty voided for any subsequent owners.

The idea is to stop speculative resellers from cashing in while new orders are still backlogged. In other words, buy it to drive, not to flip. Would that resale clause stop you from making a bid on this ZR1?
