Cat Deeley issues apology after risking Ofcom row with 'appalling' seizure joke: 'I am very sorry!'

Cat Deeley has apologised after offending ITV viewers with a joke in which she quipped she was "having a seizure".

The presenter was dancing on This Morning alongside co-host Ben Shephard on Monday morning when she made the joke after he'd questioned her moves.

What followed was an onslaught of disgruntled viewers demanding an apology, branding Deeley's remarks as "disgraceful", "uneducated" and "appalling".

On Tuesday, Deeley addressed the furore head-on and told viewers: "First of all, I just wanted to apologise to anyone who was offended yesterday when I made a light-hearted comment about my dancing style.

"It really wasn’t supposed to cause any upset to anybody, but I can see why that might have been the case, so I do apologise. I'm very sorry.

"It didn't come from that place at all," she signed off.

Seizures are no laughing matter for people with #epilepsy @catdeeley.
