Businessman Buried with £120,000 Mercedes Benz on his Funeral Ceremony

A video has gone viral showing an extraordinary funeral ceremony in which a deceased businessman was buried alongside his luxury vehicle.

The incident took place in Liaoyang, located in Liaoning Province, where the businessman’s Mercedes-Benz S450L—valued at approximately £120,000—was interred with him.

Footage from the scene shows the vehicle decorated with a red traditional ribbon before being lowered into the ground. An excavator was then used to pour soil directly onto the car during the burial process.

The vehicle reportedly bore the license plate number “888,” a number widely regarded in Chinese culture as a symbol of wealth and good fortune.

The unusual ceremony has generated widespread reactions online, with many expressing shock and disbelief.

One eyewitness said:
“I’m so f***ing speechless.”

Another commented:
“I suspect someone will dig it up in a few days,”

A third added:
“A few years ago, there was a burial with over 10 grams of fine gold, but it got tomb-robbed a few days later.”

Officials from the Civil Affairs Bureau in Liaoyang confirmed that the incident occurred in the Gongchangling District.
