Burial Arrangements Announced For Late Nollywood Star Alexx Ekubo

The family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has unveiled plans for his final burial rites, which will conclude on June 18, 2026.

Ekubo reportedly died on May 11 following a battle with kidney cancer.

In a funeral notice shared on the actor’s Instagram page on Monday, the family called on friends, colleagues, and supporters to remember his wife and relatives in prayers during the mourning period.

As part of the burial activities, a service of songs is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Center in Lekki, Lagos, from 4pm to 6pm. Guests attending the event are expected to wear white outfits.

The wake ceremony will later take place on Wednesday, June 17, at the family home located at 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu in Abia State.

According to the programme released by the family, the funeral service and interment will be held on Thursday, June 18.

The church service is expected to take place at Mary Slessor School before the actor is laid to rest at his family residence in Arochukwu.

A reception will follow immediately after the burial at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, with attendees also requested to appear in white clothing.
