Bron Breakker is out after hernia surgery

Dave Meltzer reported today at F4WOnline.com that Bron Breakker recently underwent surgery for “a very serious hernia.” He said there is no word just yet on how long he will be out of action but the timing could not be worse, considering WWE is just two months out from its biggest show of the year, WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.

This could explain why Breakker was booked how he was in the Royal Rumble match. The Vision member entered at number two, was attacked by a masked mystery man, and was promptly eliminated from the match within seconds of getting into the ring. They shot on angle on Monday Night Raw days later where he was sent home by Raw General Manager Adam Pearce.

His dealing with a serious issue would certainly help explain that, especially with rumors having him winning the Rumble not long before Roman Reigns ultimately ended up doing just that. Reigns vs. Punk will now headline WrestleMania, a spot that very well could have gone to Breakker had this injury not derailed that.

Recovery times for hernia surgery vary, and we can’t know exactly what the timeline looks like, but it’s certainly possible Breakker will be ready in time for the biggest show of the year. There’s no way he makes Elimination Chamber, though.
