Bindow, Binani, Nyako, Other Adamawa ADC Leaders Unite for Atiku, As Ex-VP Formally Joins Coalition Party

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Monday formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), collecting his membership card at the Jada 1 Ward in Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The symbolic ceremony was conducted by the National Secretary of the ADC Registration and Mobilisation Committee, Senator Sadiq Yar’Adua, in the presence of a powerful coalition of Adamawa political leaders, including former Governor M. Jibrilla Bindow, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed (Binani), Senator Abdulaziz M. Nyako, Senator Ahmed Hassan Barata, Senator Ishaku Abbo, and many other prominent figures who have united under the ADC banner.

Speaking shortly after receiving his card, Atiku declared:

“Now I have picked my membership card of the ADC. Now, the real opposition has begun. We will work in concert with other leaders of the opposition and Nigerians to chase the APC out of government.”

He urged his supporters nationwide and all citizens desirous of reclaiming and rebuilding Nigeria to immediately register with the ADC, describing the party as the authentic platform for change.

Adamawa State ADC Chairman, Hon. Shehu Yohanna, announced that Atiku’s registration signals the formal launch of a comprehensive membership drive across all 21 local government areas and 226 wards of the state. Senator Sadiq Yar’Adua echoed the call, urging youths, women, and eligible voters across Nigeria to join the party and prepare to rescue the country.

With this high-profile defection and the unprecedented unity of Adamawa’s political heavyweights behind him, the African Democratic Congress has instantly emerged as the strongest and most cohesive opposition platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.
