Benue: “SGF Akume Ganging Up With PDP’s Ortom To Distablise Gov Alia’s Government” – APC North Central Forum Notifies Tinubu

The North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has called on President Bola Tinubu to caution Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), over his alleged alliance with opposition politicians to destabilize the APC in the North-Central zone.

According to the Forum, Akume’s alliance with Samuel Ortom, immediate past Governor of Benue State, poses a threat to the APC government in the state, led by Governor Hyacinth Alia.

“The North-Central APC Forum has observed with alarm, the alliance and gang up between the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume, and Chief Samuel Ortom, the immediate past governor, against Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State,” the Forum stated on Monday via a statement. .

The Forum expressed concerns that Akume’s actions could destabilize the APC in the North-Central zone, urging President Tinubu to intervene.

“The North-Central APC Forum is asking President Bola Tinubu to watch the SGF, as his alliance with opposition leaders such as Chief Ortom can destabilize the APC in not only Benue but the entire North-Central,” the statement released by the group’s Chairman, Saleh Zazzaga warned.

Furthermore, the Forum accused Akume of prioritizing his personal interests over the development of Benue State and the North-Central zone.

“The North-Central APC Forum has lost confidence in Senator Akume, the SGF, as his unholy alliance with Chief Ortom shows that he does not care about the development of Benue State and the North-Central zone,” the Forum declared.

The APC Forum also warned that Akume’s alliance with Ortom could have far-reaching consequences for the party in the 2027 elections.

“The APC cannot afford to lose Benue State in 2027. We call on President Tinubu and other leaders of our great party to act fast to forestall the destabilization of the APC in the North-Central,” the Forum urged.
