Barcelona register Rashford for LaLiga opener against Mallorca

Barcelona have successfully secured Marcus Rashford’s registration with La Liga ahead of their opening fixture on Saturday.

The Spanish champions confirmed earlier today that Rashford will be in the squad to face Mallorca.

Ahead of the game, Barca manager Hansi Flick admitted he was unsettled by the delay, saying he was “not happy with the uncertainty.”

In the end, the Catalans finalized key deals on Friday, creating the salary space needed to register the England forward.

Barcelona transferred the remaining 50% of Francisco Trincão’s rights to Sporting CP for €11million. In addition, Jules Koundé signed a new contract, which allowed the amortisation payments on his €55m transfer fee to be spread over three more years.

Rashford joined Barcelona last month on a season-long loan deal from Manchester United.
