Baptist conference president gives account of tenure, says, “partnership and vision vital for leadership”

The President, Lagos Central Baptist Conference, Rev Dr Victor Akerele has given account of his first five-year tenure in office just as he observed that partnership and effective leadership are solid parameters in Christian leadership.

He made the observation.during a review briefing in Lagos recently..

Leaders according to him should maintain strong focus and unwavering commitment to lead with capabilities and competencies .

He also used the occasion to commend the Chairman of the Conference Rev Samson Adedokun for his exemplary leadership, vision and commitment to the Conference.

Akerele said, “In the journey of leadership, God graciously surrounds us with men and women whose faithfulness, wisdom, and love strengthen our hands in service. Revd. Dr. Samson Aderinto Adedokun, Chairman of the Conference, is one of such rare gifts — not only a respected leader but a dear brother and true friend.”

He said further that Adedokun “has been exceptionally supportive, demonstrating uncommon humility, understanding, and brotherly affection. His leadership reflects a heart yielded to God and committed to the unity and progress of His Church. He exemplifies that biblical truth: “there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother” (Proverbs 18:24).

While noting that Adedokun’ ‘s genuine friendship, unwavering loyalty, and dynamic strength have been both a blessing and an encouragement, he said to him, ‘You have shown that leadership is not a competition but a collaboration in the service of Christ and His Kingdom.”

He also thanked Dr. Margaret Bosede Adedokun, describing her as a woman of calm and gracious spirit. “Her quiet support and gentle disposition have complemented your visible strength in a remarkable way.” He said.

Akerele , who mounted the saddle of Leadership five years ago holds a Doctor of ministry degree form the prestigious Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomosho in Oyo State.He also bagged a Ph.D from the Olabisi Onabanjo University,Ago -Iwoye in Ogun State.

He is also a member of several professional Association and Christina bodies.
