Art Exhibitions Open For Viewing This September 

August is one of those months where there are art exhibitions every week. It is a month that caters to art enthusiasts and collectors who enjoy shopping for new art to take home or simply enjoy a window into artists’ hearts. 

1. Wake Up 

Hosted by Angel and Muse, this group exhibition is open from the 5th of September to the 11th of September. 

2. Woven Realms 

This is a solo exhibition by Ruth IGE, taking place on the 12th of September, hosted by Ko Art Space. 

3. Crosscurrents and Affinities 

Hosted by the Dada gallery, this group exhibition, curated by Anthony Ogochukwu Agbapuonwu, opens on the 13th of September. 

4. Borders & Other Myths 

This exhibition is a project by Carine Mansan, Chigozie Obi, Earnest Amabibi, Cortney Herron, Myles Igwebuike, and Hamed Maiye. Hosted by Gallery Affinity, it opens on the 13th of September. 

5. The Weight of Traces 

Hosted by the Soto Art Gallery, this is a group exhibition by Ronke Komos, Lola Mariam Alli, Odama Paulcy and Oluchi Anaghoba. It opens on the 13th of September and runs for the entire month. 

6. What Comes To Mind When You See The Garment 

Hosted by the FF projects, this is a solo exhibition by Stephen Tayo and a part of the Alara Residency. It is open until the 20th of September. 

7. The City People 

Curated by Moses Oyeleye and hosted by Alliance Fraçaise de Lagos, this exhibition is open until the 26th of September.

8. Groundwork 

This is a duo exhibition by Paulcy Odama and Victoria Ndubisi. Hosted by Nomadic Art Gallery, it is open until the 26th of September.

9. State of Africa

Open for the entirety of September, this group exhibition by 12 artists is hosted by the Windsor Gallery.

10. Change Machine 

This solo exhibition by Chukwuemeka is hosted by Nuru Gallery and is scheduled to run until the end of September.
