Art Dubai attracted more than 25,000 visitors as the landmark cultural event recorded strong sales and global participation in Dubai.

DUBAI: Art Dubai concluded its 20th anniversary edition with record attendance, strong international participation and major sales across four days at Madinat Jumeirah.

The annual fair attracted more than 25,000 visitors between 14th and 17th May, highlighting the growing influence of Dubai’s cultural and creative industries. Organisers said the event showcased a new generation of UAE-based artists while reinforcing the emirate’s position as a leading regional art hub.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Art Dubai brought together galleries, museums, collectors and institutions from more than 20 countries. Participating nations included the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UK, the United States, South Africa and the Republic of Korea.

Art Dubai featured contemporary, modern and digital artworks from regional and international galleries. Institutional participation included globally recognised organisations such as MoMA in New York, Zeitz MOCAA in Cape Town and Busan Museum of Art in South Korea.

Benedetta Ghione, Executive Director of Art Dubai Group, said the anniversary edition exceeded expectations and reflected the city’s diversity and creative energy. Gallery owners and collectors also praised the sophistication of Dubai’s art market and the strong engagement from visitors throughout the event.

Several galleries reported high sales during the fair. Dubai-based gallery owner Taymour Grahne revealed that works by Emirati artist Roudhah Al Marzouei sold out within hours of opening. Tabari Artspace Founder Maliha Tabari said collector engagement and regional interest surpassed expectations this year.

Art Dubai has played a central role in connecting Middle Eastern and North African artists with international audiences over the past two decades. Cultural leaders said the fair continues to strengthen Dubai’s global reputation as a destination for creativity, investment and artistic exchange. Organisers confirmed that the next edition of Art Dubai will return to Madinat Jumeirah in April 2027.
