APC, INEC Declare Amb. Elijah Onyeagba Winner of House of Representatives Primary (Details)

Amb. Elijah Onyeagba, PhD, has officially emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the House of Representatives seat representing Dunukofia, Njikoka, and Anaocha Federal Constituency following his victory in the party’s direct primary election.

According to a statement issued by the campaign’s Chief Media Director, Sir Tochukwu Amalu, KSJI, both the APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recognized Amb. Onyeagba as the authentic winner of the primary election conducted on May 17, 2026, in Anambra State.

The result shows that Amb. Onyeagba secured a total of 9,442 votes to defeat his closest rival, Barr. Timothy Ifedioramma, who polled 2,000 votes.

The official declaration, contained in the original result and declaration sheet signed by the APC Primary Election Committee, stated that Amb. Onyeagba fulfilled all constitutional and procedural requirements of the party and scored the highest number of valid votes cast in the exercise.

The declaration was signed by Rear Admiral Emuekpere (Rtd.), Chairman of the Primary Election Committee, and Mr. Michael Israel, Secretary of the Committee.

Following the announcement, supporters and stakeholders congratulated Amb. Onyeagba on what they described as a decisive victory, expressing confidence in his ability to provide effective representation for the people of the constituency.

With the party primary concluded, attention is now shifting to the forthcoming general election, where the APC standard-bearer is expected to campaign on his development agenda anchored on the slogan, “Maka Ndi Na-abia N’Iru” (For the Future Generation).

Party supporters described the outcome as a clear endorsement of Amb. Onyeagba’s candidacy and pledged to mobilize support across Dunukofia, Njikoka, and Anaocha ahead of the main election.
