In case the siren song that is the Gilmore Girls intro hasn’t already clued you in, cozy season has taken over our streaming algorithms. This also means my favorite Nancy Meyers heroines have officially reached hibernation mode. As much as I have adored living my Erica Barry summer these past few months, those Something’s Gotta Give coastal grandma moodboards suddenly feel out of place next to leaf-strewn sidewalks, moody brownstones, and back-to-school energy. But there’s still something about a Nancy Meyers-style comfort watch I can’t help but crave during the fall. Maybe it’s the unexpected love stories, the dreamy set designs, or the cozy wardrobes, but Nancy Meyers’ energy is exactly what I am trying to bring into my fall movie queue.

So, in the spirit of bringing the Nancy Meyers vibes into fall, I’ve scoured all the streaming services for films that deliver the same warmth, romance, and charm as your favorite Nancy Meyers movies—just wrapped up in a few more cozy knits. Read on for my list of fall movies that feel like your favorite Nancy Meyers classic.

1. Julie and Julia

Rent on Amazon Prime

Between the cozy kitchens, Thanksgiving-worthy boeuf bourguignons, and early 2000s fashion nostalgia, Julie and Julia will instantly wrap you in that warm fall energy. The story follows Julie (Amy Adams), a burnt-out New Yorker who decides to undertake an ambitious new project: preparing all 524 recipes in Julia Child’s famous cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Intertwined with Julia Child’s (Meryl Streep) own tale of passion and cooking, this movie rivals even Nancy Meyers’ charming kitchens.

2. Little Women

Stream on YouTube TV

Little Women is basically a Nancy Meyers movie in Victorian dress. Between the knit cardigans and romantic fireside scenery, this movie definitely scratches that Nancy Meyers itch. The March sisters’ witty banter and quiet self-discoveries are easy to love, and best enjoyed with your favorite chunky blanket and warm fall beverage. Based on the iconic 1868 tale, the story follows four sisters (Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, and Eliza Scanlen) and the dreams that bind their lives together (and pull them apart) as they grow up in Concord, Massachusetts.

3. To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

Stream on Netflix

If you’ve ever wondered what a modern Nancy Meyers–esque teen rom-com might feel like, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is it. Trading Hamptons kitchens for high school hallways, this movie still has all of that warm, intimate charm that Meyers fans live for, but with a back-to-school twist that feels very fall. The story follows high school student Lara Jean (Lana Condor), who writes letters to all her crushes, keeping them buried in her closet. That is, until her sister finds them and sends them off in the mail. This movie is as easy to love as your seasonal re-watch of It’s Complicated, but with more teenage angst and lots of selfies.

4. Practical Magic

Stream on Hulu

Of course, there has to be a witchy movie on a fall movie list, and Practical Magic’s cozy, whimsical atmosphere fits right into our Nancy Meyers cinematic vibe. It’s romantic, charming, and perfect for anyone craving Meyers-level comfort with a hint of mystical mischief to feel extra seasonal. And with a sequel in the works, now’s the perfect time to revisit the original! But in case you haven’t seen it, the story follows two sisters (Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman), who were born into a magical family, but actively avoid their witchcraft. That is, until one of their dangerous boyfriends dies, and they must quickly use magic to revive him.

5. The Half of It

Stream on Netflix

The Half of It has more of that back-to-school energy that feels extra immersive this time of year. The story follows Ellie Chu (Leah Lewis), a shy, bookish high schooler who helps the school jock impress the girl they both secretly like—both discovering themselves, love, and a unique friendship along the way. Watching Ellie navigate new friendships and first love carries all the heart I crave during the fall. Plus, it’s full of the feel-good moments that make your favorite Nancy Meyers films so comforting.

6. The Age of Adaline

Stream on Peacock

We may have to wait a bit before breaking out the linen sets again, but The Age of Adaline’s timeless fashion moments more than make up for it in the meantime. This movie’s style moments feel like Meyers himself styled them. With its cooler atmosphere and muted color palettes, the movie is even more enjoyable in autumn. The story begins when we meet Adaline Bowman (Blake Lively), who mysteriously stops aging after a car accident. As she navigates decades of love, loss, and reinvention, her story offers layers of cinematic comfort and yearning to get swept up in.

7. Autumn in New York

Stream on Prime Video

In case the title didn’t already give it away, Autumn in New York is full of cozy fall moments. This movie is the cinematic version of that warm and fuzzy feeling you get while reading a good book on a rainy day in a cute cafe. The movie follows Will (Richard Gere), a charming but commitment-averse restaurateur, who falls unexpectedly for a young woman yearning for adult life (Winona Ryder).

8. Dan in Real Life

Stream on Disney+

Starring Steve Carell, Juliette Binoche, Emily Blunt, and more, the film delivers familiar romantic tension—think Something’s Gotta Give—with whimsical interiors, crisp fall foliage, and a cozy bookstore scene that makes it the perfect sweater-weather watch. The story goes: As widower Dan (Carell) navigates single parenthood and the messiness of family gatherings, he decides to seek refuge inside the town’s local bookstore. Fatefully, he meets and quickly falls for Marie (Binoche), who also happens to be his brother’s new girlfriend. The fallout from the encounter is endlessly entertaining, and there’s nothing like a family comedy to make you feel better about your own drama.

9. Mona Lisa Smile

Stream on Hulu

This comfort watch adds even more engaging female leads to our Nancy Meyers-inspired fall universe. Thanks to its coming-of-age nuance and the nostalgic allure that is Julia Roberts as a prestigious art professor, Mona Lisa Smile is easy to love this time of year. Full of classroom debates and ivy-covered campuses, this movie follows Katherine Watson (Roberts), a progressive art teacher, determined to challenge her students to see beyond marriage and embrace their ambitions.

10. Midnight in Paris

Stream on Roku

Midnight in Paris feels tailor-made for fall viewing. The film’s dreamy blend of cobblestone streets, late-night strolls, and cafe conversations makes it just as lovable as your favorite Nancy Meyers kitchen scene, with a reflective, witty edge. Following Gil (Owen Wilson) and his sudden ability to slip into the magic of the 1920s each night—rubbing elbows with artists like Hemingway, Fitzgerald, and Gertrude Stein—this movie is the ultimate autumnal escape. And amidst arguably the busiest season of the year, its exploration of simple joys and living in the present are great reminders as well.

11. You’ve Got Mail

Rent on Amazon Prime

You’ve Got Mail is one of the most iconic fall movies of all time, in my opinion, and it also feels deeply Nancy Meyers–coded. Between the romantic Upper West Side scenery, bookstore banter, and enemies-to-lovers plot, this movie satisfies all of my fall movie cravings. It’s basically the cinematic equivalent of a pumpkin spice latte. In case you haven’t heard this love story before, the movie focuses on rival bookstore owners Kathleen (Meg Ryan) and Joe (Tom Hanks), who work across the street from each other. But unbeknownst to them, they’ve also recently been exchanging anonymous love letters online.

12. Lady Bird

Stream on Hulu

As we embark on a season all about reflection and setting new goals, this coming-of-age story carries a certain back-to-school spark that is especially apt in the fall. With a cozy sweetness that keeps you warm, no matter the time of year, I always have a soft spot for Lady Bird. The movie stars Saoirse Ronan as “Lady Bird,” an ambitious high school senior navigating friendships, family, and the rollercoaster that is growing up in Sacramento, California. I love the quiet Nancy Meyers-esque charm you get with this one, with a little sprinkle of teenage rebellion to keep you on your toes.

13. Sweet Home Alabama

Rent on Amazon Prime

Tender, funny, and just the right amount of homey, Sweet Home Alabama is the perfect fall film when you’re feeling like a hopeless romantic. Reese Witherspoon stars as a successful New York fashion designer who heads back to her Southern hometown to finalize her divorce from childhood sweetheart Jake (Josh Lucas), all while preparing to marry Manhattan’s most eligible bachelor. Between the sweet small-town settings, cozy front porches, and It’s Complicated-esque romantic sparks, this movie is a perfect fall watch when you’re craving something heartwarming.

14. When Harry Met Sally

Buy on Amazon Prime

Inevitably, like any fall movie list has, When Harry Met Sally has officially defrosted atop my comfort movie queue. As my Nancy Meyers persona drifts out with the final breezes of summer, this chic classic always rises to the top of my watchlist. It’s unlikely pairings, razor-sharp dialogue, and romantic city backdrop make it peak Nancy Meyers vibes, and truly one of the most iconic fall rewatches of all time. In case you don’t know the tale, the film follows Harry (Billy Crystal) and Sally (Meg Ryan) as they navigate friendship, fateful timing, and the lingering question of whether men and women can ever just be friends.

15. Silver Linings Playbook

Stream on HBO Max

Silver Linings Playbook fits effortlessly into our Nancy Meyers fall universe. With its mix of romantic tension, quirky characters, and intimate, warmly lit interiors, the movie delivers that same atmospheric comfort that makes a Meyers’ film so irresistible. The story follows troubled Pat Solatano (Bradley Cooper), who, after being released from a mental health facility, tries to rebuild his life and unexpectedly connects with equally complicated Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence). Set against leafy suburban streets and Something’s Gotta Give-worthy family drama, this movie radiates a humorous, heartfelt energy.
