Agradaa Takes On New Name “Evangelist Josephine Asiamah”

A new chapter has opened for the founder of Heaven’s Way Church as she adopts a completely new identity while serving time behind bars.

The embattled evangelist, formerly known to the public as Patricia Asiamah or Agradaa, has now taken the name Evangelist Josephine Asiamah, a change her husband says reflects a spiritual rebirth emerging from her time in custody.

The announcement was made by her husband, Angel Asiamah, right after last Sunday’s service. According to him, this new name represents his wife’s desire to fully separate herself from her controversial past and embrace what she believes is a renewed mandate from God.

Explaining the inspiration behind the new name, he revealed that it draws from the story of Joseph in the Bible—known for staying faithful even while imprisoned.

He told the congregation that, “He told the church that, “After adopting the name Josephine, when I came home wondering why she chose that name, I remembered the story of Joseph and what he did while in prison, which is spreading the word of God and interpreting dreams to inmates. If biblical men changed their names after trials and rebirth, she ought to do same.”

Angel Asiamah further noted that his wife—also referred to as Mama Pat or Asem No—has taken this as a sign of a fresh start in her ministry journey, even though she remains behind bars.

Through the letter, the evangelist encouraged her followers not to lose hope, urging them to keep praying as she believes that every hurdle in her case will eventually bow in her favor. She expressed confidence that every obstacle standing as a “Goliath” in her battle will fall in due time.

Agradaa, now calling herself Evangelist Josephine Asiamah, continues to serve her sentence as her case involving charlatan advertisement proceeds in court. She is currently preparing an appeal against her 15-year conviction and is also seeking a plea bargain in a separate matter concerning the circulation of intimate videos of a pastor.
