In a decisive response to escalating security threats, including a brazen family abduction in Madagali Local Government Area, Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris has convened a high-level strategic meeting to reinforce the state’s security framework.

On January 29, 2026, CP Morris gathered Divisional Police Officers, Operational Commanders, Heads of Departments, and Area Commanders for an intensive session aimed at enhancing intelligence sharing, coordination among security agencies, and proactive measures to safeguard lives and property throughout Adamawa.

The meeting comes on the heels of a disturbing kidnapping incident in Pallam Community (also referred to as Palam or Gare Village), Madagali LGA—the hometown of Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

Suspected terrorists or insurgents raided the area in the early hours of late January 2026, abducting six members of a single family and rustling livestock, according to police confirmations.

Reports from various sources indicate the victims included family members from one household, with joint police-military operations launched for their rescue. The incident has heightened fears in border communities vulnerable to insurgent activities linked to groups like Boko Haram remnants.

Addressing the gathering, CP Morris issued clear directives for officers to maintain a public-friendly  posture while assuring them of robust supervisory backing to fulfill their duties effectively. He emphasized that security thrives on trust, teamwork, and collective resolve.

In direct response to the Pallam abduction and similar emerging threats, the Commissioner ordered the immediate deployment of additional security personnel to high-risk zones, including: Yolde-Pate, Sabon Haya, Kofare-Agric, Ajiya Street, and Chinko in Yola South and Yola North LGAs; Bariki Sajo and Maigero communities in Song LGA

These reinforcements aim to stabilize affected areas, deter further criminal acts, and rebuild public confidence.

The Deputy Commissioners of Police for Administration, Operations, and Investigation expressed full support for the Command’s action plans, stressing that lasting security demands unwavering commitment, resilience, and shared responsibility.

The session also incorporated insights from attitudinal change lectures by Dr. Joseph Danley, National President of the Foundation for Correction of Moral Decadence (FCMD), underscoring that effective security extends beyond awareness to encompass mindset transformation and skill development.

SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Adamawa State Command, released the details in an official press statement, reaffirming the Command’s dedication to collaborative, intelligence-driven policing in the face of persistent challenges.

Residents and stakeholders have welcomed the proactive steps, viewing them as critical to curbing kidnappings and restoring normalcy in rural and urban areas alike. Security forces continue intensified patrols and rescue efforts amid ongoing threats in the region.
