Adamawa Pledges Full Support for Federal Programmes as Governor Fintiri is Honoured Grand Patron

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has restated his administration’s total commitment to providing every necessary support to federal establishments in the state to ensure seamless implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The governor gave the pledge on Sunday night during a colourful End-of-Year Dinner and Award Night organised by the Committee of Heads of Federal Government Establishments in Adamawa State, where he was formally invested as the Grand Patron of the committee.

Represented by his deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, Governor Fintiri commended the Federal Government for the numerous interventions already executed in the state, pointing out that projects and programmes in education, housing, health, environment and human capacity development have significantly boosted the state’s economy and improved the lives of citizens.

“The honour of Grand Patron is not just a title; it is a call to redouble our efforts and deepen the existing synergy between the Adamawa State Government and all federal agencies operating here,” Fintiri said, adding that his administration remains “ever ready” to remove any bottleneck that could hinder federal projects.

In his address, the Chairman of the Committee, Bldr. Martin Gyado — who doubles as Federal Controller of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development in Adamawa — explained that the body exists to coordinate federal policy implementation and foster a cordial, mutually beneficial relationship with the host state government for the overall prosperity of the nation.

While conferring the Grand Patron title on the governor, Gyado described Governor Fintiri as a worthy recipient, citing the unprecedented level of cooperation his administration has extended to federal ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) throughout the year.

The Chairman of the Organising Committee and Federal Controller of the Ministry of Environment, Hajiya Safiya Abubakar Mohammed, thanked guests for the impressive turnout and congratulated the governor on the well-deserved honour.

The ceremony also recognised outstanding service, with about 20 distinguished individuals receiving Commendation Letters and Awards of Excellence from the committee.

The event, held at a packed banquet hall in Yola, was attended by heads of federal agencies, top government officials, traditional rulers and stakeholders from across the state, underscoring the growing partnership between Adamawa State and the Federal Government under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
