Actress Fathia Williams mourns with ex-husband Saidi Balogun as he loses first daughter

Veteran Nollywood actor Saidi Balogun is mourning the heartbreaking loss of his first child, Zeenat Balogun.

The tragic news has shaken the Nollywood community, and Saidi’s ex-wife, actress Faithia Balogun Williams, has also expressed her grief over the devastating event.

On Saturday, October 5, Saidi took to Instagram to share an emotional post featuring a flickering candle surrounded by flowers, symbolizing the extinguished light of his beloved daughter. The actor, who has four children, reportedly learned of Zeenat’s passing while performing on stage at Terra Kulture on Friday.

Faithia Williams, who was formerly married to Saidi and served as a stepmother to Zeenat, also shared her sorrow on Instagram, joining him in mourning this profound loss. The post has drawn support and condolences from fans and colleagues alike, as both Saidi and Faithia cope with the tragic death of Zeenat.

She wrote, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un” (from Allah we come, to Him we shall return).”

Saidi’s colleague Ronke Oshodi Oke paid tribute on Instagram by posting an image of a candle.She captioned the post, “No words can ease the pain of losing someone so precious. My heart goes out to you @saidibalogun during this incredibly difficult time. May you find strength in the love and support surrounding you.”

Other notable actors including Kunle Afod, Yomi Fash-Lanso and Adeniyi Johnson have also extended their condolences.
