20yr Old Ibrahim Mutari on The Run After Stabbing Grand-Stepmother to Death in Jos

A 20-year-old man, Ibrahim Mutari, has allegedly killed his father’s 70-year-old step mother, Hauwa Abubakar, in Yanbula community, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to source, the incident occurred at about 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026.

The husband of the deceased, Abubakar Shuaibu, condemned the killing, describing it as cruel and inhumane. He alleged that the suspect attacked, strangled, and stabbed his wife with a knife before fleeing the scene.

A daughter of the deceased, Ummi Ahmed, claimed that the attack was linked to a longstanding family dispute. She alleged that Ibrahim had previously vowed to take revenge following a fight between him and his younger brother, Musa, which occurred last year.

According to her, the altercation led to Ibrahim being stabbed in the stomach by Musa, after which he was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

“While he was in the hospital, Ibrahim vowed to take revenge on either my mother or her children,” Ummi said. “Today, he has carried out that threat.”

She further revealed that a nurse at the hospital had warned the family to be cautious, noting that Ibrahim’s statements at the time were dangerous.
Ummi added that despite the threats, their mother had taken care of Ibrahim throughout his hospitalisation.

The suspect is said to have fled after the attack, while security agencies have reportedly begun investigations into the incident.
