2025 SEMA Show : Infiniti Fits QX80 With Nissan GT-R’s Engine To Turn It Into 1,000-hp SUV

For this year’s SEMA Show, Infiniti fits QX80 with Nissan GT-R’s twin-turbo to turn it into 1,000-hp SUV.

Its 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine was swapped to turn QX80 into an unexpectedly raw performance machine.

The QX80 R-Spec build also boasts a visual enhancements inspired by the Nissan GT-R T-Spec Takumi Edition.

These enhancements includes GT-R brakes and custom suspension upgrades, as well as a bronze 24-inch wheels.

Other upgrades includes restyled exhaust finishers, diffusers, fog lights badges as well as a color-shifting wrap.

Infiniti has introduced the QX80 R-Spec build ahead of its official unveiling at this year’s 2025 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from November 4 to 8.

The QX80 R-Spec boasts a visual enhancements inspired by the GT-R T-Spec Takumi Edition, including GT-R brakes and custom suspension upgrades, as well as a bronze 24-inch wheels designed to resemble those from the GT-R.

Other upgrades includes restyled exhaust finishers, diffusers, fog lights badges as well as a color-shifting wrap, which pays homage to the Midnight Purple colors made famous on the R34 and R35 GT-R generations.

But the highlight of the QX80 R-Spec build is the modified, GT-R sourced 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, which now puts 1,000 horsepower – replacing the standard 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine in the QX80.

Infiniti said that the project vehicle not showcases the depth and capabilities of its performance engineering, but also future high-performance variants of the QX80 introduced as an all-new model for the 2025 model year.

“QX80 R-Spec is extreme, aggressive and a showcase of what INFINITI can do when our engineering and design teams take off all the guardrails,” said Tiago Castro, Vice President of Infiniti Americas.
