  • Mazda has introduced the 2025 MX-5 Miata, which starts at $29,330.
  • The model largely carries over, but the Grand Touring offers a new Deep Crystal Blue exterior.
  • A 35th Anniversary Edition will be added to the lineup and it’s slated to debut next month.

Mother Nature has its icy grip on much of the country, but that hasn’t stopped Mazda from introducing the 2025 MX-5 Miata. It largely carries over, but celebrates a milestone with a new 35th Anniversary Edition.

Mazda isn’t saying much about the car at this point, but confirmed the limited edition will debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona on January 24. It will feature an Artisan Red exterior, a tan Nappa leather interior, and a host of “special details.” These will apparently include an individually numbered badge behind the doors.

Besides the special edition, pricing climbs from $28,985 to $29,330. That’s an increase of $345 and it doesn’t sound like buyers will get anything for the extra dough. However, the company did confirm the range-topping MX-5 Grand Touring now offers a Deep Crystal Blue paint job. It also sounds like there may be a new electric power steering system.

While there isn’t much to get excited about, the entry-level MX-5 Miata Sport features LED headlights, a black soft top, and 16-inch alloy wheels with a metallic black finish. Buyers will also find a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a six-speaker audio system, and an 8.8-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. They’re joined by a host of driver assistance systems including Smart Brake Support, Lane Departure Warning, and Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.

The mid-level Club trim starts at $32,830 and features a host of performance-focused upgrades. These include a shock tower brace, Bilstein dampers, and a limited-slip differential. They’re joined by a Track Mode, gloss black accents, and larger 17-inch wheels.

Other highlights include heated seats with a suede insert and a nine-speaker Bose premium audio system. Buyers can also opt for a retractable hardtop and a $4,900 Brembo BBS Recaro Package, which adds Brembo brakes, BBS wheels, and heated Recaro sport seats.

Lastly, there’s the MX-5 Miata Grand Touring which begins at $34,630. It features an upgraded interior with leather seats and bright silver accents. They’re joined by GPS navigation, an automatic climate control system, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink. Buyers will also find additional safety features including automatic high beams, traffic sign recognition, and adaptive cruise control on models equipped with an automatic transmission.

Speaking of the powertrain, all MX-5s are equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 181 hp (135 kW / 184 PS) and 151 lb-ft (205 Nm) of torque. A six-speed manual comes standard, although a six-speed automatic is offered on the Grand Touring as an option.
