Former Abia State governor and whip of the Senate, Orji Uzor Kalu says the Igbos of the Southeast of Nigeria will have to wait beyond 2023 to have a shot at the Presidency.

Kalu made this submission in a chat with Senate Correspondents on resumption from the long recess this Tuesday.

The Senator said the race for the Nigerian Presidency was not a regional or ethnic affair, insisting he has nothing against Peter Obi of the Labour Party who is of the Igbo extraction.

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu dismissed the talk of planned impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari on account of insecurity as mere gossip, noting the APC has the numbers to keep the president in office.
