Yangwang U9 Xtreme “The Dawn”, The First Production-spec Of The World’s Fastest Car, Stuns At Beijing Auto Show

Yangwang U9 Xtreme “The Dawn”, the first Production-spec of the world’s fastest car, stuns at Beijing Auto Show. 

U9 Xtreme made headlines last September with its record-breaking 496.22 km/h (308.4 mph) run at Germany’s ATP Papenburg test track. 

Limited to just 30 units worldwide, each example of the 3000-hp Yangwang U9 Xtreme will be a one-of-a-kind work of art. 

Yangwang U9 Xtreme “The Dawn”, the first production-spec of the world’s fastest car, has made its debut at the Beijing Auto Show (Auto China), with brand planning a limited series production run of just 30 units worldwide.

The U9 Xtreme made headlines last September with its record-breaking 496.22 km/h (308.4 mph) run at Germany’s ATP Papenburg test track – a benchmark that was soon followed by a record lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife in just in 6:59.157 minutes.

Finished in a special “Dawn Moment” body paint that incorporates an ultra-fine gold powder, the U9 Xtreme “The Dawn” on display at Beijing Auto Show is designed to demonstrate how customers to personalize their cars.

“By delving into these millennia-old traditions, YANGWANG aims to find a resonance of values between Eastern artistic craftsmanship and the discerning tastes of 30 of the world’s top collectors,” BYD, the parent company of Yangwang said in a statement.

Each example of the YANGWANG U9 Xtreme will be a one-of-a-kind work of art – from their unique exterior paint finishes and carbon-fibre patterns to the infotainment UI and door-closing chimes.

“Some owners have already finalised their personalisation plans and are beginning to enter the contract-signing and production-scheduling phases,” the automaker added.

Pricing hasn’t been announced by BYD, but the standard Yangwang U9 in the market starts from 1.68 million yuan ($236,000 or EUR 215,000), so the U9 Xtreme is expected to cost significantly more.

Featuring a world’s first 1,200V ultra high voltage platform, the U9 Xtreme boasts four (4) ultra-high-speed motors that churns out over 3,000-horsepower (an upgrade from the base U9’s 1,288-horsepower).
