WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR OCT. 6

You’re a spaceman in Tulsa, so you cover it up in clown white. All these elegant boys make such delicate toys and they know it, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with a recap of Roman Reigns’ recent return.

Reigns makes his entrance and gets on the mic.

He lets “OTC!” chants ring out a good long while before beginning, asking Dallas to acknowledge him–

Enter “Big” Bronson Reed, flanked by Paul Heyman.

They stand on the stage for a long beat and Roman asks if they have anything to say or they’re just gonna stare at him. Paul Heyman replies, saying he doesn’t know who’s been Wisemanning him since he broke his heart, but he’s ruined the entire schtick, and Paul does his own demand for Dallas to acknowledge their Tribal Thief and for Roman to acknowledge the one man on this planet he fears in his heart, Bronson Reed.

Heyman continues, saying Roman knows he fears him and well he should, because not once in his entire life has he ever been beaten so bad he needed a stretcher, not once, not in a football game and not at an Anoa’i family barbecue and not in his entire WWE career even before he was the Tribal Chief at the height of his greatness, not once did a man lay a beating on him so bad that he had to be placed on a stretcher, carried out of the arena, placed on an ambulance, and taken to the hospital.

Reed speaks now, saying Roman’s father Sika? 45 years in the business, never stretchered out. His uncle Afa? 45 years in the business, never stretchered out. How does he think they felt, looking down on him and watching him get stretched out by Bronson’s hands? Reigns says it’s funny he brings up his father and his uncle because he didn’t know them, but the dumbass next to them, he did.

He asks Heyman what he thinks his dad would say now and says his dad would say “Fight ’em now,” so let’s do this NOW! Paul holds Bronson back and Reigns says he’s been there and there’s no wise words for Reed, Heyman’s just telling him not to fight now, the words of a coward, and let’s be honest, Roman is levels above him.

Reigns says it’ll be his time no matter when or where or in what fashion, because he’ll always be your Tribal Chief. Heyman sets it up for Crown Jewel in Australia on Saturday in a match that Bronson has never been defeated in and that he was so dominant in that WWE recruited him from Australia to the main roster… AUSTRALIAN STREET FIGHT!

Roman accepts the challenge and Paul E turns and leaves with a big “good night everybody!” Reigns says they walked in like tough guys but now they’re walking out like a couple of bitches and Reed turns around and rushes the ring and we get a brawl! Referees and road agents swarm and a Superman Punch sends Bronson flying over the timekeeper’s barricade in the middle of the pull-apart!

Reigns stands tall in the ring and puts his one up.

NOW we get the usual montage of talent arriving at the arena.

Backstage, Asuka is yelling at Adam Pearce for a match between IYO SKY and Kairi Sane for tonight. Pearce says he needs to make sure there’s room in the show and he’ll get back to her. She demands the match again and he walks off saying he needs a drink.

Kairi Sane arrives and asks what’s going on and Asuka tells her she’s gonna have SKY tonight. Kairi says she doesn’t want to fight her because she thinks she can still bring her back into the family but Asuka unloads on her in Japanese and slaps her across the face and tells her the match is happening.

Sane says she understands and Asuka calls her a good girl and that sound you hear is every sapphic trans wrestling fan’s jaw going slightly slack at the same time.

Becky Lynch makes her entrance to send us to break.

Becky Lynch vs. Maxxine Dupri

Circling, collar and elbow, Lynch with a pull of the hair, pushing her to the corner, Dupri turns her around, a shoving match breaks out and Maxxine gets the better of her! Armbar takedown, Lynch flaling but she manages to shove Dupri down, waistlock takedown, piefacing Maxxine over and over, she cold cocks Becky but the Man shoves her down hard!

Kicks in the corner, stomps, referee Jessika Carr backs her off, Lynch plays to the crowd for a big before turning back to Dupri, whip across, sidestep the chair, whip across, Lou Thesz Press into big heavy punches from Maxxine! Awkward dropkick to the knee, Becky bumps like she got shot out of a cannon, to the floor, Dupri with a cannonball senton!

On the floor, Lynch recovers and throws her into the barricade, follows it up with an exploder suplex into the barricade and we go to break!

Back from commercial, trading elbows, Lynch with an uppercut and a kick, off the ropes, Dupri with a knee and a couple lariats, another knee, sending Becky scrambling to the corner, Stinger splash, fisherman suplex, a kip-up and the straps are down! Reverse roundhouse caught, Maxxine rolls through, picks the leg, ankle lock applied with nowhere to go!

Becky rolls her through into the turnbuckles, hobbles up on one foot, knee in the corner and Dupri is on dream street! Mounted punches from the Man, Maxxine slips under her… LIGER BOMB IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING BUT BECKY KICKS OUT! Up in the turnbuckles, jockeying for position, Lynch with a superplex, float over into the pin, only two but she grabs a cross armbar on the kickout!

Maxxine does her best to keep her grip, rolls over, schoolboy for two and into the ankle lock again! Becky rolls through, victory roll… STILL NO! Manhandle Slam denied, German suplex connects! Reverse roundhouse… LYNCH KICKS OUT AT THE LAST SECOND! Diving crossbody, roll through, lateral press for two! Dupri schoolboy and feet on the ropes… NOT ENOUGH!

Running kick from Becky, throwing Maxxine out of the ring, following after her, smashing her face announce desk to apron to barricade to the tune of “This is awesome!” chants, back inside to break the count, Lynch jaws at Carr and goes back to grab Dupri and smash her face into the steel steps and then the Prime hydration station, smacking her with the big bottle and not getting disqualified somehow.

Back inside, backing Jessika in the ropes and taking trash, the referee shoves her back, Lynch goes to the floor, putting Maxxine into the announce desk again, climbing up top and posing for the crowd, Dupri back inside as referee Jessika Carr counts… MAXXINE DID IT?! SHE WON BY COUNTOUT!

Maxxine Dupri wins by countout.

Backstage, Roman Reigns runs into the Usos.

Jimmy Uso is upset about Bronson Reed burying uncle Afa and uncle Sika, and Jey Uso says they got this. Reigns says he doesn’t need that, he needs Jey to stay hyperfocused on HIS opportunities and his career, and asks who’s talking at the top of the hour. Jey says CM Punk is, and Roman gives him a little “not you?” and Jey storms off to fix it.

Roman turns to Jim and says he hears and sees everything and asks what the problem with Jey taking his advice is, and Big Jim gives him a “aw c’mon man” look before Reigns walks away.

Hugger Bayley rolls up on Lyra Valkyria in Gorilla to ask if she can be in her corner and Lyra expresses some reticence but agrees because she needs backup with Raquel Rodriguez at ringside. and Bayley does the secret handshake with her.

They make their entrance together and we go to break.

Back from commercial we get some hype for NXT vs. TNA Showdown tomorrow night.

Lyra Valkyria vs. Roxanne! Perez

Valkyria headlock takeover, again, grinding her down, Perez reverses to a headscissor, Lyra slips out, shoves her down, trading slaps! Roxanne! with a side headlock, shot off, shoulder block, leg pick, Valkyria with a front chancery, rolling neckbreaker, cover for two! Kneeling armbar, Perez grabs a hank of hair but Lyra shrugs her off.

Roxanne! with an arm drag but Valkyria rolls through and right back into the armbar! Legsweep, cover for two, waistlock, Perez gets her boots up, guillotine knee across the back of Lyra’s neck, roll her to the apron, threading her arm through the ropes in the corner, bending it over the turnbuckle and stomping it vicious to send us to break!

Back from commercial, Perez working the elbow, Valkyria gets a German suplex off and both women are down and out! Lyra with right-arm lariats, left arm close her torso, northern lights suplex, into the bridge, cover for two! Valkyria gets under her, fireman’s carry, Nightwing reversed, trading pinning predicaments, no fall!

Reverse roundhouse lays Perez out, headed up top, Raquel Rodriguez runs interference on the apron, Roxanne! with an axhandle to the back, up top with her, Bayley helps her buddy out, Perez crashes to the mat, Lyra with a moonsault… NO GOOD! Raquel blasts the Hugger with a boot on the floor, Valkyria off the ropes, wrecking ball dropkick for Rodriguez! ROXANNE! SUICIDE DIVE TORNADO DDT!

Back inside, off the ropes…

Roxanne! Perez wins by pinfall with Pop Rox.

Post-match, Role Model Bayley is in charge and drags Lyra up to the stage to go after Judgment Day!

We get a video package detailing the history between AJ Styles and John Cena, which I gotta say, I started liveblogging shows right in the middle of their first feud and it was an absolutely fantastic time.

Backstage, AJ Styles is interviewed.

He barely gets a word out when Judgment Day roll up and Dominik Mysterio taunts him about getting out of the old folks home.

He asks how Styles thinks he’s gonna beat John Cena when he can’t even beat him, and Finn Balor says a little birdie told him AJ and Dragon Lee want to challenge him for the tag titles and from an old friend, that would be a huge mistake. Styles says three-on-one isn’t great odds but he’s gonna get Dragon, find a third, go to Adam Pearce, and see about getting a trios match made for tonight.

CM Punk is shown walking backstage, past Rusev and Adam Pearce arguing, to send us to break.

Back from commercial, AJ Styles and Dragon Lee roll up on Penta and ask him if he’ll be their third for the trios match.

Penta says he’s listening but a scuffle breaks out off-camera and we pan over to see Lyra Valkyria and Bayley beating the holy hell out of Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne! Perez as Adam Pearce, referees, and road agents scramble to restore order.

We see some various sporting celebrities, including the world champion of bareback riding, apparently, in the crowd.

CM Punk makes his entrance and gets on the mic.

He gets a big reaction from the crowd singing his song so he stops and says he’s always wanted to try this and does the “the stars at night are big and bright deep in the heart of Texas” bit.

He talks about Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins and says part of why he hasn’t been here these past two weeks is because Cody’s his friend and he doesn’t want to get in his business, but also he’s been celebrating with his wife because they beat Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins at Wrestlepalooza. He says he started this year beating Seth Rollins on Netflix and he’s gonna end it beating Seth Rollins on Netflix.

He singles out a sign about how he deserves his world title back but says deserves isn’t the right word, “earned” is the right word, because every time it’s one-on-one, Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk, he’s had Seth’s number, and he’s better than him and everybody knows it, so as soon as he gets another chance he’s winning that title.

Enter LA Knight.

He gets in the ring and on the mic and tells Punk to look in his eyes and asks what he sees, to which CM says “somebody that interrupted me.” Knight says that’s very good but what you see is a man who’s a big force that walked in this place, blew the doors off, and he still hasn’t gotten what he’s earned and deserved, and that’s his reign as world heavyweight champion.

But Punk said some things he agreed with and there’s just a couple of omissions he wants to point out. CM is the creator, the owner, the man who is known for the pipe bomb, but lately he’s been more known for being a husband and that’s not a knock or an insult, and what he wants to say is that everybody out here wants and needs love, even the most jaded person, and for that he commends Punk for cultivating that.

But for as good a husband he is, he’s a terrible champion and he keeps getting pinned, but do you know who’s never ever been pinned by Seth Rollins? Punk says it’s probably the guy who’s never ever been heavyweight champion. LA says he’s the last one to pin Seth and he’ll damn sure be the next one and he’s gonna be the world heavyweight champion–

Enter “Main Event” Jey Uso, coming out through the stage tonight.

He’s gonna stop them right there because he’s finally thinking clearly and he’s the one, the one who’s never gotten his rematch for the world heavyweight championship and the one who’s up next for the title. LA says it’s deja vu and Jey is always knocking on his door and complaining but his time came and went and his best shot now might be going after the tag titles but after last week he might want to stop sucking at being a tag team.

Jimmy Uso comes down and LA apologizes because they’re cool and keeps running his mouth… JEY USO LAYS KNIGHT OUT WITH A SUPERKICK! CM talks to Jey and assumes they’re cool and he was interrupting LA but he’s gonna have to get in line behind him and maybe he should focus on being in a tag team because he loves Jey Uso but he doesn’t like Little Roman.

Punk turns to walk away, Jey grabs at him, Big Jim gets between them, Jey tries to throw a superkick, Jimmy blocks but CM steps through and lays Jey out with a haymaker! He tells him to stay out of his business and turns around… “BIG” JIM USO LAYS CM PUNK OUT WITH A SUPERKICK!

IYO SKY gets a promo vignette about how Asuka broke her heart and tells her they’re not family anymore but she’s starting to find out who is, and at Crown Jewel you’ll find out that Asuka isn’t ready for IYO.

SKY makes her entrance to send us to break.

IYO SKY vs. Kairi Sane

SKY immediately jumps Asuka before the bell! Sane saves her mentor and puts IYO back inside and we get a bell!

Ducking and dodging, double leg into flailing hammerfists, putting SKY in the corner, back body drop to the apron, up top, nobody home, off the ropes, drop down, bypass, tijeras but IYO lands on her feet! Both women go for dropkicks, stalemate, Asuka barks orders, Kairi charges in with a big boot, sidestep some handsprings, IYO blasts her with a dropkick!

Fired up, to the apron, Asai moonsault connects and we go to break!

Back from commercial, fighting in the turnbuckles, jockeying for position, Sane with a hanging headscissors in the ropes for the full count of four! Kairi with a diving elbow smash, cover for two, both women end up down and out! SKY up top, missile dropkick, fired up, corner knees but nobody’s home!

Sane charges in, bypass, German suplex into the bridge… NO DEAL! Sane counters, sliding elbow, cover for two! Slam in the corner, Kairi goes up top… FEET UP TO COUNTER THE DIVING ELBOW DROP! Corner knees connect this time, IYO says it’s over, heads up top but Asuka runs interference and she pops back down to blast the Empress with a boot!

Clubbing blows, Sane attacks from behind, bridging pin, Asuka holds her hands…

Kairi Sane wins by pinfall with a bridging pin and a little help from Asuka.

Post-match, Asuka holds IYO up, Sane hits the spinning backfist and then goes up top for a diving elbow drop! Kairi kneels on the mat, gasping and conflicted while Asuka hugs her all smiles.

A video package detailing Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins’ history together sends us to break, hopefully.

Nope! No such luck, we cut backstage to Becky Lynch pacing and rambling about her loss to Maxxine Dupri in the same room as Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman, who are both studiously ignoring her.

She says she’s gonna tell Adam Pearce she needs some time off to collect herself and storms off.

Rollins tells Paul that they should talk and he agrees. Seth says he has to win on Saturday and Heyman says he’s going to. Rollins asks what if he doesn’t, Paul acts like he doesn’t understand and then says he will beat Cody Rhodes, it’s an impossibility that he’ll lose. Rollins says he’s not hearing him and asks him what happens if he loses.

Paul E asks if he wants it straight and says if he loses to Cody, he loses the locker room, he loses the faith of the Vision, he throws away everything they’ve built since WrestleMania, he throws away the entire Netflix era being built around him, and he cements himself as a wanna be second-class champion, so he should do himself a favor and not lose.

Heyman turns to leave but Seth grabs his wrist and says he can’t help but notice he left himself out of the equation and asks what happens to Paul if he loses. Heyman says he’s his secret weapon but Seth cuts him off and says he asked a straight question and he wants a straight answer. Paul says if he loses to Cody, at some point he’ll have to ask himself why he picked him over Roman Reigns and walks off.

Seth stares sullen into the distance and we cut away.

Jey Uso is backstage ranting next to Roman Reigns about getting punched in the face. Jimmy Uso rolls up and Jey asks why he was out there when he was trying to run the play and now he’s got a tag match and asks if he’s trying to protect CM Punk and that he better recognize what side he’s on. “Big” Jim says he’s on Jey’s side and they both know it.

Jimmy tells Roman that he says he sees and hears everything but so does he and he’s messing with Jey’s mental and he needs to know that he’s not like him and Jey isn’t anything like him. Reigns says he knows Jim isn’t hearing him right now but he needs to listen to him– when Jey won that world title, he became more like Roman and less like him, and if he really wants to help his brother, sometimes he just needs to get out of his way.

Big Jim angrily takes his hat off.

Penta makes his entrance and NOW we go to break.

AJ Styles, Dragon Lee, & Penta vs. Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor, & JD McDonagh)

Balor and Styles to start, Finn grabs a side headlock and drops to a knee, shot off, leapfrog, drop down, dropkick sends him to the floor! McDonagh runs in, Penta sends him packing with a superkick, Lee takes care of Mysterio with a tijeras, planchas from AJ and Zero and then a tope con giro from Dragon and the babyface trio do Penta’s strut in the ring to send us to break!

Back from commercial, Penta handstand kick, sliding elbow from Styles, cover for two! Drawing Balor up, tag to Lee, JD cuts him off, tag to Dominik, big corkscrew uppercut, cover for one! Working Dragon over, blocking the tag, quick tags from Judgment Day as the heat segment rolls on and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Lee still on the wrong side of town but he hits a Liger Bomb on Mysterio! Crawling, reaching, tags made and it’s Penta on JD! Off the ropes, tijeras for McDonagh, kick to the knee and a swinging X-Factor for Dom, kick to Finn, double DDT on the tag champs but Mysterio rolls to the floor!

Zero calling for it, charging in, McDonagh catches him with the standing Spanish Fly! Tags to Styles and Dominik, Styles Rush connects, fired up, Stinger Splash, backbreaker rack, spin-out Argentine powerbomb… JD BREAKS IT UP! Dragon sends him packing, Finn sends him packing, Penta sends him packing… TOPE CON GIRO!

Dominik with a Hot Shot, setting AJ up on the second, he runs the ropes but slides short because Rusev is here and coming after him! Mysterio grabs his title belts and tries to run away, Rusev gets hands on him but Penta takes Rusev out with a superkick! McDonagh slingshot sunset flip as Dom runs away, AJ gets him…

AJ Styles, Dragon Lee, & Penta win by pinfall with the Styles Clash from AJ on JD McDonagh.

Post-match, Styles gets on the mic and says this match at Crown Jewel between himself and John Cena, they don’t need a story. It writes itself. You got two men who will dance for the last time, and he promises they’ll leave it all in that ring and it will kick ass!

Commentary hypes up the Crown Jewel card.

LA Knight is warming up backstage when CM Punk rolls up.

Punk says neither of them want this match and Knight says that’s fine but they gotta do it, and all he asks is that CM not get pinned.

The Usos make their entrance through the crowd, after a bit of a delay, to send us to break.

Back from commercial, commentary hypes up next week’s show and its special start time of 8 am ET.

CM Punk & LA Knight vs. the Usos (“Big” Jim & “Main Event” Jey Uso)

Punk and Knight slide right in and we get a brawl! Referee Chad Patton lets it go and calls for the bell and soon enough it’s LA and Jey legal. Right hand gets a jawbreaker, Knight stomps a proverbial mudhole in the corner, running knee, tag to CM! Arm wringer, wrenching a few times, hard tag right back to Knight!

LA asks if that’s what they’re gonna do but keeps it business, arm wringer, Jey with a right hand and a tag! Big hip toss from Knight, right hands, chopping away, suplex neckbreaker, boot up in the ropes, Jey with a cheap shot, tags back in, brawling with LA on the floor, hard whip into the steel steps and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Knight still on the wrong side of town, Usos working him over, Demolition Decapitation leaves him visibly staggered and down and out in the ropes. LA gets a jumping neckbreaker on Jey, the path is clear, Punk reaching for the tag… AND HE GETS IT! Bowling Jim ovr with elbows and lariats, whip across, heel kick, short-arm lariat!

Up top, Hail to the King and CM takes his shirt off! Calling for it, fireman’s carry, Jimmy slips out, superkick, tag to Jey! Up top, diving splash… LA BREAKS IT UP! Match breaks down, BFT to Big Jim, schoolboy from Punk for two, Jey lands a spear, heads back up top but has to pop down to pop Knight in the mouth!

Fireman’s carry… GO TO SLEEP! LA tags in, steals the cover…

CM Punk & LA Knight win by pinfall with a lateral press from Knight on Jey Uso.

Punk and Knight stare each other down while the Usos recover.

That’s the show, folks.
