WWE NXT RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR JAN. 6

That was then and this is now and those things are now in the past. And I know no matter what, some things weren’t meant to last, but liveblogging this here pro wrestling show for you, folks? That train don’t stop!

The show opens with a PPV-style hype reel for tonight’s card.

The usual montage of talent arriving at the arena follows.

We seem set for our NXT Women’s North American Championship match but Blake Monroe attacks Thea Hail before the bell and beats her down with a steel chair, throwing her through the barricade! The referee corps pulls them apart as medics arrive to check on Thea!

With the fate of the title match in question, “Absolute” Ricky Saints makes his entrance and gets into the ring and on the mic.

He says he thought he’d come out here and give everyone a very special gift by kicking off NXT’s 2026.

He knows the crowd feels some kind of way about him but honestly, last year he really, really needed NXT… but now, NXT needs him! And that’s why Je’Von Evans and Trick Williams chose free agency, because they know they can’t compete because they don’t compare, and he can’t blame them.

But he’s not going anywhere, and the indie cats in the back need to be aware they might be talented, but they’re not Absolute. He is who he says he is and he’s gonna keep proving that for 2026. It’s abundantly clear to him that it’s natural-born stars against the stars they try to create, and he knows howt his ends.

Which kind of brings him to the main event tonight, Leon Slater vs. Oba Femi. He doesn’t really care about either guy, but Leon, bruv, if you win, he’s gonna handle you. But for Oba, it’s still 1-1 and that doesn’t sit well in his spirit. He slips but never falls, and regardless who wins, NXT is gonna be in his hands as well as the NXT Championship, and that is absolute, turn pose freeze.

We see Ava Raine backstage frantically talking into a headset to keep the show going.

We get a video package for Tatum Paxley vs. Izzi Dame and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Ava Raine hunts Blake Monroe down to yell at her.

Blake Monroe says she asked for the Glamour and the Glamour brings hell with her, so just give her her title back already. Ava says she’s not getting the match AND she’s banned from the building!

Izzi Dame vs. Tatum Paxley

Paxley hot out the gates and brawling, Dame cuts her off out of the corner, big shoulder block, throw her in the corner, Tatum jumps up and catches her in a half crab in the turnbuckles for the full count! Diving stomp to Izzi’s knee, dragging her back inside, Paxley hauls off and slaps her before putting her a calf slicer!

Letting go, spike her knee, enzuigiri, Dame collapses into the ropes, Tatum nails her with a somersault leg drop! Jumping back up to the apron, Izzi catches a kick and pulls her into the ropes, big elbow knocks Paxley down to the floor and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Dame catapults Paxley into the ropes and catches her with a double knee backbreaker on the rebound! High-angle kneeling Boston Crab applied, before rising back to her feet to better manage Tatum as she crawls for the ropes… AND GETS THE BREAK! Izzi up top, Paxley cuts her off with an enzuigiri, right hands, superkick connects!

Climbing up top with her, Tatum hits an avalanche Spanish Fly! Paxley pressing the attack, snap German suplex but then Izzi cuts her off and beats on her in the ropes, Doctor Bomb… NO DEAL! Back and forth, Dame gets an overrotated back suplex, cover for two! Suicide dive, Dame drives Paxley hard into the steel steps and puts her back inside!

Izzi with another back suplex, Tatum lands on her feet, Pele kick connects, she heads up top, 450 splash connects, she gets her up…

Tatum Paxley wins by pinfall with Cemetery Drive.

We get a hype reel for French luchador Aigle Blanc, now going by Elio Lafleur where he promises he’s here to slash the sky.

WrenQCC and Fatal Influence are shown (separately of course) walking backstage to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Ava Raine meets with Thea Hail and Jordynne Grace.

Raine says Hail’s title match is postponed until she’s good to go, Thea begs her to let her fight, Ava points out Blake Monroe is banned from the building. Hail asks her to bring her back but Raine won’t reward bad behavior, so Thea says she’s gonna bring the open challenges back. Ava tries to talk her out of it but Grace says Hail’s mind is set so she might as well let her fight, and Raine relents and makes it official for later tonight.

Jacy Jayne (c) vs. Kendal Grey (NXT Women’s Championship)

Grey right in with an arm drag to an armbar, Jayne fights out, Kendal right back in with a waistlock takedown to a cross armbar and Jacy runs screaming for the ropes! Jayne charging in the corner, Grey up and over, out and in, slide under, shotgun dropkick nails the champion and she falls to the floor to regroup with Fatal Influence… KENDAL TAKES ‘EM ALL OUT WITH A MOONSAULT TO THE FLOOR!

Back inside, slingshot, Jacy slides back out, trips her up, but Grey is right on her with a cross armbar from the apron! Jayne manages to lift her up and swing her into the barricade and taunts her as we go to break!

Back from commercial, Jayne with an over-the-shoulder cravate, wrenching it in, Grey gets away, off the ropes, both women go for crossbodies and both women end up down and out! Trading elbows from their knees and to their feet, Kendal with a goozle to set up headbutts, duck under, German suplex drops the champ high on her shoulders! The straps are down, Grey charges in, sliding legsweep, slingshot double stomp takes her back inside!

Charging DDT out of the corner, cover… NOPE! Kick from the apron staggers the champ, Kendal goes up top, Jacy cuts her off, hanging rolling neckbreaker… NO DEAL! Grey sidesteps a cannonball, snaps off another German suplex, a third, but Jayne clobbers her with a knee to the face… STILL NO! Superplex, la casadora, Jacy slips out, O’Connor roll, reversed, kicked out of, cross armbar but Fallon Henley runs interference so Lainey Reid can pull Grey out of the ring and get suplexed on teh floor for her trouble!

Wren Sinclair drops Fallon Henley with an elbow, Jacy takes her out with the rolling elbow but Kendal is right behind her with a flying armbar! Countered with a pin, superkick connects, looking for the jumping reverse STO but Henley recovers and helps Jacy block…

Jacy Jayne wins by pinfall with the rolling elbow, retaining the NXT Women’s Championship.

Jacy asks the camera who wants next as we go to break.

Back from commercial, we see Oba Femi warming up.

Ava Raine is in her office greeting the actual last person she wanted to see today, “All Ego” Ethan Page.

Page talks up his title reign and his twelve title defenses and asks if he can finish his thoughts in the ring and get out of her hair. She asks if he’s gonna throw a tantrum and Page says there’s no catch, he’s gonna leave her office… SO THE BOYS CAN COME IN!

The boys being the Vanity Project.

Jackson Drake says they’re here to talk 2026.

Thea Hail, taped up and hobbling, makes her entrance for her open challenge.

She gets on the mic and says she knows her win was a little controversial and she’s devastated Blake Monroe attacked her because nobody wanted that match more than her, and she promised a title match so damnit she’s giving us a title match to prove that she really deserves the NXT Women’s North American Championship.

So whoever wants a shot, get out here!

A gaggle of women vomit forth from the entrance and Tatum Paxley, wielding the chainsaw, cuts through the crush! But she’s not fast enough, because Shawn Spears shoves Izzi Dame into the ring from the other side!

Izzi Dame vs. Thea Hail (c) (NXT Women’s North American Championship Open Challenge)

Dame hard out the gates, working Hail over in the corner, whip to the ropes, champion with a back elbow, Izzi scoops her up, stampedes her into the corner, powerslam connects… NOT ENOUGH!

Back from commercial, Dame putting boots to Hail, scoop countered into a DDT and Thea is alive! Whip across, axhandles from the champion, up and over, sunset flip, cover for two! Izzi with a scoop and a slam, Hail rolls away from an elbow drop, drags her around, somersault senton, springboard senton but Dame has the knees up!

Big boot plants Thea for two, she recovers and tries for the double wristlock but Izzi rams her into the corner. Exploder suplex sends Dame to the floor, Hail dives on her and gets caught and chokeslammed into the announce desk! Izzi taking a breather, Shawn Spears points out she can’t win the title on a countout!

Back inside, Hail cuts Dame off in the turnbuckles, climbing up with her, right hands, trying for the double wristlock again but Izzi comes off the top with her…

Izzi Dame wins by pinfall with an avalanche spinebuster, becoming your new NXT Women’s North American Champion.

Lola Vice is backstage watching when the Vanity Project roll up to hit on her all at once.

Hank and Tank make the save and tell them to run off, and the Vanities say the vibe isn’t it and walk off.

Tank Ledger says NXT’s got some new resident douchebags and Lola Vice says they were about five seconds from getting knocked out. They change topics to how Lola’s gonna go after Izzi Dame after she finishes with Kelani Jordan. They talk her up–

Kelani Jordan busts through the door, takes her shoes off(?) and throws one(?!) at Vice and they have to be kept apart!

Joe Hendry goes to Ava Raine looking for a fight against Dion Lennox next week, in a no disqualification match.

She loves his determination but a no disqualification match will just turn into a handicap match. Joe asks what if he finds a couple badasses to even the odds and she says if he can find the guys, sure, she’ll sign off on the match.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, “All Ego” Ethan Page is in the ring, mic in hand.

He says he finds it fitting to ring in the new year celebrating the most dominant superstar of 2025… himself. Last week, he became a big game hunter because he bagged himself a Moose and sent that lunkhead back home to TNA empty-handed, again proving he’s the greatest North American alive.

In a few short moments, Oba Femi will defend his title against Leon Slater, but make no mistake, they’re not the main event– he is. His title is the most prestigious in all of WWE, and he finds it funny that Femi, a supposed world champion, only defends his title in one part of North America, where Ethan has defended against challengers from many countries in many companies and brands.

He figures that makes him an international icon, and in 2026, he’s merely–

Enter Jasper Troy.

He says All Ego isn’t the only one who dominated 2025, and in 2026 he’s gonna prove that he’s the monster of NXT.

Enter Josh Briggs.

He tells Troy to shut his mouth and Page to stop wasting his time with losers like Myles Borne, because he’s almost as much of a loser as the mouthbreathers in the audience.

Enter Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, flanked by Arianna Grace.

He says Page wants to talk about importance but he’s the only one from NXT currently holding TNA gold? He wants to call himself an international icon? Adjust your glasses, Stacks is the TNA International Champion!

Enter Shiloh Hill, because why not at this point.

He’s glad Stacks is in a better mood than the last time they met, and he’s worried he ruined his Christmas. After he won, Ava Raine and Santino Marella put their heads together and he gets a shot at Channing’s title next week!

Enter Tavion Heights.

He loves the chaose, this is his kinda party, and he likes what Hill was saying but it nees more him, get what he’s saying? Next week, Jasper Troy is gonna fly Air Heights and he’s gonna leave as Speed Champion!

All Ego has had enough, and in short order a brawl breaks out and Hill stands tall! Grace slides back in the ring to slap him but he spins her around, dips her, and… accidentally spits his fake tooth out on her cleavage.

Gross.

Arianna rolls to the floor and freaks out with her man.

We see Leon Slater warming up backstage and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Joe Hendry asks OTM for help against Darkstate.

They’re not interested, because they only care about going after the tag titles. Hendry says if they help him out they’ll get a direct line to the tag titles and they change their mind and will see him next week.

Fatal Influence run into Zaruca backstage.

They bicker about who has titles and whatnot.

“All Ego” Ethan Page runs into Myles Borne, who’s chatting with Tate Wilder, and chews Borne out for not helping him out and Wilder out for being an Evolve guy.

Commentary hypes up next week’s show.

We see TNA president Carlos Silva in the crowd as Leon Slater makes his entrance, and we go to break.

Leon Slater vs. Oba Femi (c) (NXT Men’s Championship)

Collar and elbow, Femi pushes him into the corner and biels him across the ring! Back to the lockup, Slater goes behind, Oba slings him aside, wristlock, Leon struggling to reverse but the Ruler keeps his grip strong! Drawing Slater up, Femi with a hard right hand, arm wringer, Leon fighting into it, handspring caught and Oba drops him with a backbreaker!

Whip across hard and Slater crashes over the ropes and to the floor as we go to break!

Back from commercial, Slater lands a Codebreaker for some separation! Femi grabs him by the legs, gets tijeras’d to the floor for his trouble, Leon heads out to the apron and Oba blasts him with a huge overhand chop! Slick evasion on a lariat, Slater shoves Femi into the steel steps and throws him back inside!

Off the top, diving crossbody, cover for two! The Ruler hits a huge chokeslam… NOT ENOUGH! Leon manages a bodyslam… STILL NO! Another goozle from the champ from the apron, Slater with an enzuigiri that sends him to the floor… OVER THE POST TOPE CON GIRO! Drawing Oba back up and back inside, Slater perches, 450 splash… BUT THE KNEES ARE UP!

Femi crawls into a cover, only two, crucifix on the kickout… THE RULER KICKS OUT AT THE LAST FRACTION OF A SECOND! Superkick from Slater, off the ropes, Oba catches him with a powerbomb…

Oba Femi wins by pinfall with a pop-up powerbomb, retaining the NXT Men’s Championship.

Oba poses with the title in front of a spotlight.

Ava Raine is backstage chatting with a bunch of NXT hopefuls about how people are getting called up and there’s openings.

Robert Stone busts in and asks Ava if she saw what Oba just did.

She says no and they rush out of the office together.

The camera cuts to see the NXT Men’s Championship title belt left in the ring.

That’s the show, folks.
