The next premium live event on the WWE schedule is the Bash in Berlin show set to take place on Sat., Aug. 31, 2024. This will be the first time the promotion will hold a PLE in Germany, as they take over the Uber Arena in Berlin.

We’re just under three weeks out from showtime, and the top of the card is settled:

  • World Heavyweight Championship: GUNTHER (c) vs. Randy Orton

Remember, there was some dispute over GUNTHER defeating Orton to become King of the Ring and earn the title shot at SummerSlam that ultimately resulted in his becoming the new ruler of the roost. They’ve made that the basis of his first defense.

  • WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens

Rhodes tried to just give the title shot to Owens, citing his desire to face him and reward all the hard work/help he’s given Cody over the past however many months. KO initially refused but when SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis started talking like Roman Reigns would be getting the match, Owens had a bit of a change of heart and Aldis agreed to give him the shot.

There are other title matches that could be made for this show, though it’s unclear if they will be. Santos Escobar will be taking on LA Knight for the United States championship at some point, possibly here. Meanwhile, DIY vs. The Street Profits will determine the next top contender to The Bloodline’s WWE tag team championship. That, too, could go here.
