Why We’re Winding Down Our Executive Dysfunction Newsletter—and What Comes Next

Good morning, Rewire News Group readers.

Normally, when you hear from me on a Monday morning, I’m sending you Executive Dysfunction, our weekly roundup of White House news. Today, however, I’m writing to inform you that we’re winding down Executive Dysfunction. Last week’s edition was the final one. But the good news: Our brand-new newsletter Rewire Weekly is launching soon!

Executive Dysfunction, which began shortly after President Donald Trump started his second term, was always meant to be short-lived. Then, because it scratched an itch, we kept on doing it.

But, ultimately, RNG isn’t a general politics magazine—and we don’t want to become one. We are, quite proudly, the United States’ only national newsroom exclusively dedicated to covering reproductive, gender, and sexual rights—all of which are under intense, sustained attack right now.

RNG’s legal analysis, explanatory journalism, personal essays, and accountability reporting on these topics puts us on the front lines of the battles for basic human dignity and U.S. democracy. Yet historically, our newsletters have only featured a fraction of our work. That’s why I’m thrilled that Rewire Weekly will deliver all of our journalism straight to your inbox— packaged up in one tidy, appealing bundle.

We’ll share more about Rewire Weekly in the coming weeks. But for now, I want to thank you for reading Executive Dysfunction. I promise: What comes next will be phenomenal. If you don’t want to receive Rewire Weekly, you can manage your newsletter preferences here.
