Ugandan influencer begs Nigerian artistes to stop dominating

A Ugandan social media influencer has appealed to Nigerian musicians to give other African artistes some breathing space to also succeed and be celebrated globally.

The young man shared a video of himself begging Nigerians because ”you have occupied the whole music industry and you have us on chokehold”.

He lamented about Nigerians dominating so much that foreigners outside Africa will think the entire music industry comprises of only Nigeria.

Nigerian afrobeats stars, Asake and Fireboy DML

The content creator mentioned some top rated singers who are making it difficult for Ugandans and other African performers to have a chance to be heard.

He named Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Tiwa, Fireboy DML, Joeboy as some of the top musicians that are dominating. He also called new buzzing artistes like Asake, Seyi Vibez and Shallipopi.

The Ugandan man begged the abovementioned entertainers to take it slow as they have the other African artistes on chokehold.

Meanwhile in another news…

Dancehall star, Shatta Wale earlier said the successes of Nigerian artistes have made the achievements of their Ghanaian counterparts to look insignificant.

The controversial musician, whose real name is Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr, said the Ghanaian music industry is like a “feeding bottle” compared to the Nigerian industry, which he described as a “Hennessy bottle”.

Shatta Wale made the comparison while congratulating Afrobeats sensation, Ahmed ”Asake” Ololade, on his recently sold out concert at the 20,000-capacity O2 Arena in London, United Kingdom.

Taking to Twitter, the rapper wrote; “Nigerians are making Ghana music look like feeding bottle compared to Hennessy bottle. Congrats to Asake meeenn!!!

“You guys deh run tooo fast …F*ck PS: Some Ghana man say how do they do it? Me: when you stop judging people here like you are angels,I think we can get the formula. Naija is winning BIG TIME !!! My people.”
