A group of hoodlums targeted a bus owned by Channels Television, which was carrying 11 journalists from various media outlets covering a protest about the local hardships in Kano. The attackers, armed with sticks and machetes, assaulted the vehicle along Sokoto Road, breaking its windows and causing injuries to those inside. A correspondent from TVC sustained minor injuries from the attack.

Earlier that day, other hoodlums had vandalized the WAZOBIA FM radio vehicle by breaking its rear window during their coverage of the protest.

Amidst ongoing protests, some individuals set fire to the Nigerian Communications Commission Office on State Road after ransacking the premises.

Furthermore, protesters have been wreaking havoc in the historic city by targeting shops and businesses, looting as they go.

Meanwhile, a group of peaceful demonstrators, wearing green caps bearing the word “Peace,” took to the streets to confront the looters, advocating for nonviolence. They chanted “Mu yanci mukeso ba ruwan mu da kayan kowa,” which translates to “We seek freedom from the government, we do not covet anyone’s property.”
