Following the video’s circulation, Omije Ojumi’s family reportedly released an official statement confirming her passing.

The statement read, “With great sadness, we announce the passing of Evangelist Olubunmi Akinnaanu Adeoye (OMIJE OJUMI).

She passed away on 12th January 2026 at a hospital in Lagos, Nigeria. May God grant her eternal rest.”

The statement was signed by Olawale Akinnaanu on behalf of the family.

Singer Alayo Melody posted both the family’s statement and the short clip showing Omije Ojumi’s body.

While some fans appreciated the post, others expressed discomfort over the video being made public.

Sources reveal that Omije Ojumi had been battling an illness since 2025, which reportedly affected her leg.

Despite multiple medical interventions, her condition could not be restored, leading to her death.
